tweezers-so irritating!

I have three tweezers: pointed, straight edge and claw end. Two of them can't grip the hair and the straight one either breaks the hair off or grabs the skin as well as the hair and cuts me.

Life shouldn't be this hard, should it? Can anybody help with a recommendation for an efficient, not too expensive tweezers please?

I use pointed tweezerman. Cheap ones never work ime.

GoldPig · 18/06/2022 15:37

Pointed Tweezerman here too. No issues.

onmywaytooblivion · 18/06/2022 15:39

I just buy mid range boots slanted, £6
They are pretty good

You have pull the skin taught and skim the skin from sideways to get a good grip!

onmywaytooblivion · 18/06/2022 15:40

If your tweezers have contact with skin (lightly) you'll get a better grip than just plucking the end of a hair which means it will break

Threetulips · 18/06/2022 15:41

I think it’s your method!

Saying that I’d like some magnetic tweeze/mirror combination

Lavapalaver · 18/06/2022 15:42

tweezerman every time

MouseRoar · 18/06/2022 15:43

Thanks, I have been wondering if tweezerman were worth the extra, might give them a go. Not sure if I should give cheaper slanted ones first, am sick of struggling with the cheap ones I already have.
I did have an excellent pair that were really easy to use, but I can't remember where I got them and they've vanished to God knows where 😣

Tweezerman.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 18/06/2022 17:31

After throwing so many useless ones away, I saved up boots points and bought Tweezerman slanted
I have also kept a pair of good ones which are Cliganic brand( from eBay or Amazon)

Mamette · 18/06/2022 17:34

I have tweezerman ones and I know I bought them when I lived in a certain place, so they must be 18 or 19 years old and they still work perfectly.

SendARavenToRiverRun · 18/06/2022 17:42

Youngest DC used my slanted Superdrug basic tweezers for something and blunted them. After a bit of googling I found that you can re-sharpen them on a glass nail file. They've been amazing since I did it. Maybe give it a go before you buy anymore.

SandyWedges · 18/06/2022 19:04

Tweezerman..last decades

whatisheupto · 18/06/2022 19:07

Pay extra for tweezerman. All others are useless.

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 18/06/2022 19:42

Boots own brand slant edged ones.

The lady in Boots told my Mum that they are better than tweezerman so she got me a pair. I don't know if they are better than tweezerman as I haven't tried them but they are substantially better than any others I have ever had.

She also said that you can resharpen them if they go blunt with some fine sandpaper.

FriendlyPineapple · 18/06/2022 19:44

Tweezerman definitely.

They are more expensive but I've been using mine for more than 10 years and they're still as good.

VimFuego101 · 18/06/2022 19:45

I don't spend money on branded things if I can help it but Tweezerman are definitely worth spending a bit more on.

Thefailinghousewife · 18/06/2022 19:46

Another vote for tweezerman. I’ve got 2 pairs, one of which is about 15 years old and still going strong!

ArabeI · 18/06/2022 20:08

Another vote for Tweezerman. Nothing else is as good and they last years.

cherrypiepie · 18/06/2022 21:06

Came on to say tweezeman!

raffegiraffe · 18/06/2022 21:19

I've just bought cliganic slanted from Amazon and they are excellent. Cheaper and better than the tweezerman ones I've lost

Enjoyallthewine · 18/06/2022 21:22

Hi, definitely buy Tweezerman. The mini slanted are £14 from Boots. All you need

MouseRoar · 20/06/2022 19:07

Thanks everyone, I've ordered the mini tweezerman ones, did it before I saw the posts about cliganic. I'm actually excited for them to get here, I'm such a saddo😂

my tweezermans are very old work great i have slanted ones. Got some slightly cheaper on ebay recently

CinnamonJellyBeans · 20/06/2022 22:58

Yep. Tweezerman and like PP said, you will get a more accurate and less painful result if you stretch the skin first.

SomeLikeItTepid · 20/06/2022 23:11

Tweezerman tweezers (20 years plus and still going strong) but also the Tweezerman eyelash curler is a great buy too - just in case anyone is looking for a decent one.
