How much do you spend in one shopping trip? Where do you shop for new clothes?

2/3 things a month at least but usually from vinted or charity shops. Spent more last month as was going on holiday so bought a few new bits eg swimming costume, flip flops etc. Maybe every 3 months something more expensive eg bought some Dr martens sandals last month.
Trying to cut back but I love clothes.

MarthaMayWhovier · 26/07/2022 16:56

Most of my clothes are 2nd hand and I'm in charity shops quite regularly. I probably only buy something once every few months though because it's hard to find non-hideous clothes in the shops near me.

I went through a bit of a rut of refusing to accept I had moved up a dress size, recently been dieting back down to my size and now it's become a monthly pay day treat. A lot of my stuff is getting tatty/dated so imagine it will become more tempting

CatSeany · 26/07/2022 17:05

Maybe twice a year for myself. I find that my size has stayed quite constant over the last ten years so I have a lot of clothes and I don't need to replace them often. Also I hate the idea of fast fashion ethically and environmentally so I tend to try to buy from certain brands which is more expensive. One of my family members is forever getting Boohoo, Shein etc deliveries and it blows my mind how many clothes she must have!

BerthaBetty · 26/07/2022 18:42

Asos from the comfort of my sofa. I pay the £10 premier deliver per year and get next day delivery on any spend.

Free super easy returns. I don't enjoy shopping on the high street.

I do a big shop twice a year and and that’s it. I also only buy according to a certain colour palette so it really is quite easy. It’s easy to do because I live in a very quiet backwater and shopping is nigh on impossible so I shop online and and I’m never tempted in the few shops we do have here. On the rare occasion I venture up to the country next door which is a shoppers paradise I always tell myself I’ll go shopping but I never do as I come over all funny in the malls 😂

That said though - I very much enjoy shopping in small towns in Germany and Italy when I’m on holiday but they’re usually around about the same time I would be buying things anyway.

Every month, spending £200-£300 a month. I love clothes and can afford it at the moment

I'm constatly navigating a shopping additction. I'm currently trying to limit myself to my favourite shop and only when they have a sale. It's hard.

XingMing · 27/07/2022 16:02

It varies, but mostly in the winter and summer sales of two independent shops; less often somewhere else. Plus Uniqlo. I buy shoes from one company mainly, and get them online.

lindyloo57 · 27/07/2022 18:40

Been shopping today, I brought a olive vest top 100% cotton from zara, I haven't shoped in zara for 2 years as the clothing doesn't usually fit my bigger bust, needed some shorter vest tops, so it fitted the bill, in h&m I got towelling pair of shorts in the sale, and sports mid length bra, in marks a white zip up hoodie in the sale, a pair of white leather sliders, last shop was in john lewis returning something, I saw a pair of uggs white trainers reduced from £90 to £36, bargain.

PersonaNonGarter · 27/07/2022 18:58

I never ‘go shopping’ and can’t remember the last time I tried anything on in a changing room.

I buy clothes once or twice a month though - probably about 20 new items a year. This seems like a lot written down, but often it is just a bra or a swimming costume or some sports leggings.

This month I bought some summery shoes. Like a previous poster I always pay the fastest delivery and return anything quickly.
