Lighthearted makeup dilemma

I have an eye injury. I also have a black tie dinner to go to. Should I go without eye make up, or should I do one eye?
I'm fair with very blond lashes which are invisible without mascara.

What do you think?

Maybe a costume ball style mask?

chipshopElvis · 16/06/2022 21:05

If you can get mascara on without harm I would. Otherwise just mascara on the other eye, I'd skip anything else.

leotardrock · 16/06/2022 22:05

I would do neither & put some red lipstick on!

BaaCake · 16/06/2022 22:06

I'd do one eye

Sorry about your eye

Gazelda · 16/06/2022 22:36

Thanks all.

I might try each of these suggestions and see how they look. Or a glam swept fringe over the poorly eye.

strap a patch on and buy a parrot?

Seriously though, I have very pale leashes too, I get the dilemma. I would probably opt for 'without'. Hope it heals soon.

I would apply only a bit of mosturiser on your face plus some light powder - in order to even out the skin tone and disguise blemishes. Nothing heavy like foundation or BB cream if you are not going to apply make up to your eyes. Then a bit of blush and subtle lipstick. Embrace your blonde eyelashes (and eyebrows?) for this event 😊

Doing only one eye will look weird IMO

Tinted specs?

Seriously a patch might make you feel more comfortable depending on the injury. I had an injury to my face once and felt much more comfortable with a dressing over it.

I'd try out doing the one eye in advance, to see how it looked.

BusterGonad · 17/06/2022 10:36

I would do very light natural make up all over, except the bad eye. Cream blush, ivory and taupe eyeshadow, touch of gloss. Just give yourself a healthy look.
