Any ideas what this means - just standard wedding guest attire? Evening do is dress code is smart casual

What kind of thing would you wear and would your husband /partner wear.

He's not got a suit and he got married in slim fit smart chinos and a jacket.

What your husband wore to your wedding - smart chinos, jacket and a shirt (no tie) is what I would expect a guy to wear for smart casual.

For women, I would do pretty similar - or wear a summer dress but not your most expensive one.

Sorry I haven't been clear the day do is semi formal and we are invited to that.

Semi formal means summer suit. Possibly no tie. Linen suit would be great for DH. Midi dress for you. Boden do loads.

Off to a wedding this weekend, men are in summer suits, ties for the church, but removed for the reception ( it’s going to be hot!).
I’m wearing a sleeveless Monsoon silk dress, with a short jacket for the church.
i went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago and some of the men were in smart chinos and jackets, they looked fine.
I think ladies see more as an opportunity to wear something special.

I got married 2 weeks ago, men wore a variety of outfits from full kilt outfit, 3 piece suit, chinos & jacket & tie, or no tie. They all looked smart! The women wore dresses or jumpsuits and surprisingly half wore fascinators. Small boutique hotel wedding.

Not formal means hats are not needed but head bands are popular now. Fascinators that are flimsy bits of feathers always seem a bit pointless to me. A small hat is better in my view and so many are available.

I think have the measure of this now.

So nice midi dress and shoes for me. No hat maybe a headband or hatband. No jacket or cardigan. Nice shoes and bag. Dress doesn't have to be silk other luxe high end etc can be smart cotton.

DH nice chinos, jacket and shirt and tie, tie off for reception.

I think the no hat is key!
