Lash lift and tint aftermath, OUCH!!!!

Has anyone ever had a lash lift & tint?
Did it hurt like mad?

My eyes have been streaming, they're rather red and puffy & I have tint all over my face. During the tint maturing, it was stinging my eyes and I did call for help twice but no one came. I also couldn't see a thing to go and get help!

Is this normal or have I been unlucky? (Never had it done before)

This is not normal and they should not have left you alone with it!!

It sounds like you’re having an allergic reaction, take some antihistamines and give them a call for advice (they might want you to wash your eyes or something)

RedCarsGoFaster · 16/06/2022 16:18

No that's not normal.

Phone whoever did your lashes and ask what to do now.

Make sure you take photos as well.

Did they do a patch test at least 24hrs before the treatment?

Planker · 16/06/2022 16:18

No that’s not normal . I’d call the salon first and be prepared for medical attention if the swelling and itching does t go down with an anti histamine

IRememberXanadu · 16/06/2022 16:18

Very unusual and, I'd add, unprofessional of the person to leave you alone.

GrazingSheep · 16/06/2022 16:19

Please say a patch test was done at least 24 hours before the treatment

Kanaloa · 16/06/2022 16:19

That doesn’t sound normal. I had no pain or anything when I had it. Was your patch test all normal?

Kanaloa · 16/06/2022 16:20

Although what was the setup that you called for help twice and were ignored. That doesn’t sound great.

BIWI · 16/06/2022 16:22

Keep rinsing your eyes with water and that should help.

Hopefully it's just the tint stinging, rather than an adverse reaction - but I definitely wouldn't be using that salon again. They should always be with you (or at least within earshot) when the tint is taking.

And as PP have asked, did you have a patch test 24 hours before your appointment?

BuenoPlease · 16/06/2022 16:27

I did have a patch test 2 days before yes!

Basically the set up is they have little rooms upstairs and then the staff room is downstairs through a hall. So when I shouted they couldn't hear me!

Really glad this isn't normal. I couldn't open my eyes for a good 4/5 mins after she finished because I was just blinking constantly from all the stinging and streaming

So they just left you? That sounds rubbish! Did the patch test not sting or anything? Maybe you just have sensitive eyes. Some people struggle to wear eye makeup because of sensitivity just in that area.

BuenoPlease · 16/06/2022 16:30

Yes they left me alone for 15 mins once the tint was put on! I was there thinking I'd never be able to see again 😂

Patch test didn't sting or tingle in the slightest!!!!

It’s very hard to find good lash tinting.

The last place I went to I was presented with a dry cotton wool pad and told to wipe the tint off myself.

The place before that managed to wipe the tint into my eyes. Really bad reaction both times and took over a week to heal.

I just get my brows done now but I miss my tinted lashes.

Chloefairydust · 24/11/2022 23:47

Sounds like the therapist might have not been careful enough applying the tint and got some in your eyes 🫣 … I wouldn’t go back there again, it’s also not good practice just to leave you like that, I would always stay with my client during a lash tint, and I haven’t done one for a while but from what I remember it doesn’t take 15 minutes to take, the colour normally does the hairs much quicker than that (at least with the products the salon I worked at used anyway)… Have you got any eye wash you can use to flush out your eyes? 🤔 … A cold compress will help too

Sorry my bad, didn’t check the date on that thread … haha please ignore me 😳
