Help me find a student recruitment event outfit at age 44

NC so as not to out myself to colleagues! I'm having a major career change from artsy to corporate at the age of 44. I have been selected to attend a recruitment event and need suggestions of what to wear. Looking also for bag and shoe ideas. I want to look my age but also up to date, given that most of the others will be 20-21. I am also in the middle of major weight loss (1 stone down, 3 to go) so don't want to spend too much as I hope that the outfit won't fit me in a year or so. Thank you!

I’m a fan of easy to wear dresses at the moment. Can be dressed up or down. These are M&S. Lots of others available too if you like florals. Also several in black Broderie anglais which look great with a big raffia type bag.

I love that middle one! And black broderie anglaise sounds nice too. I'm not sure how boringly corporate people will be--maybe black is a safer choice. I have a semi-structured dark grey jacket that could work.

M&S are reasonably priced - I just wore a Jaeger one they sell to Royal Ascot. However the everyday cotton dresses they do are great for summer and the event you describe would probably be more informal than corporate I would have thought.

The middle one is sadly out of stock in my size! But you've given me some good ideas, thank you.
