what do you wear under your dungarees?

I have lovely pair of L&Y dungarees in dark blue and have not worn them yet due to not being able to find the right top to go with them. I had imagined a slim tee or tight jersey vest/tshirt would work, but when I try them on the fabric of all my tops bunches and stretches out of shape due to the dungaree straps moving about.

I see images of people wearing them and everything looks intact, am I doing it wrong? I have just tried a tight jersey scoop neck top beneath them and they just pulled the neck about so that it wouldnt lay flat......this happens if I tighten the straps or loosen them. There's no magic solution, or so it seems. Also, for those familiar with L&Y the front hand pockets are sitting just at my upper thigh, so it looks like theyre sliding off! If I hoik them higher they cut into my arse.

Maybe I am not a dungaree natural and need to give up.

In winter/spring /autumn I wear long sleeve heattech (uniqlo) tops. When it's warm I like a short sleeve blouse under my denim dungarees and a plain or striped t shirt under my L&Ys.

I don't notice any bunching of the tops underneath - I sometimes have to hoik them down I guess, but not so much I really register doing it! Perhaps the fit on your dungarees is the issue - maybe try on a different style or size before you give up!

I just wear a normal, snug fitting T-shirt. They don’t tend to bunch, so I’m not sure what’s going on with yours!

Snap on the Uniqlo tops and in summer vests

It seems to be the neck area, they drag the fabric a bit, whether I wear them loose or tightly pulled. Aaargh. My tops have a habit of riding up beneath them too. I'm a fairly regular (if small) build/proportion with average shoulders and B cup boobs. Will give them another try.

I have a regular fit vest top from Joules, not tight and not baggy. I wore it under today and the fabric kept scrunching up and sagged out under the arms Sad

I swear by bodysuits - just like I wore in the 90s! Just got a lovely Warehouse one from ASOS with broderie puff sleeves. Also wear plain vest ones.
