Tinted moisturiser (Boots No. 7 City Light)

Shock horror - Boots have discontinued the tinted moisturiser I have been using for the last 15 years 😫. I don’t know where to go from here - particularly as I can’t get anywhere easily to try a load of different things.

Has anyone who used to use City Light found anything else? I used the medium shade and I’m late 30s for context. A bit wrinkly (so don’t want anything chalky) and reasonably balanced skin. Would love your recommendations. I hear good things about Laura Mercier. I will spend money on the right thing but begrudgingly as my old stuff was £13!!!

I bought this one last week? Is this not the same? Apologies if this is something different. (I generally dont use moisturiser or make up but decided I might need to after seeing some horrendous photos of myself!Blush)

I like Origins Ginzing Moisturiser with SPF 40 but it is more pricey than your old option. It uses the technology that's been around a while and self matches your skin colour. I think it's better that the Trinny option personally.
I think it is subtle (better as you get older)and gives you a subtle glow (not a blingy glow like CT Flawless Filter).

@Fizbosshoes thank you - how have you found it? It’s not the same and many people that have switched to it don’t like the formula. The old one is pictured. Maybe I should just try the one you are using. Thank you!

@helenabonhamfarter brill thank you. I like origins so will look at that too. Definitely like the idea of a subtle glow!

Nars tinted moisturiser is amazing. Spendy but lasts ages and gives good coverage with a natural finish.

Fizbosshoes · 12/06/2022 18:01

I just bought it in the boots nearest to where I work. (Central London) As I say I've literally only just got it so no idea whether it's good/bad/indifferent to the previous version but I couldn't see it on the boots website.

Marking place, I love(d) city light, I previously loved the BB cream in the green tube but that went last year too 😩

Cstring · 12/06/2022 19:10

Oh god why are the keep doing this?!?
watching with interest for other suggestions as the NO7 cool beige foundation has been reformulated ruined too.

Lancôme Hydra zen bb cream.

I've tried loads of tinted moisturisers, this is by far the best one I've had and it's spf 50! It's great coverage, light, and the perfect balance only moisturising but doesn't leave you shiny.

I haven't had a problem with the new version. I just thought it was updated packaging! Sometimes I use a bit of foundation mixed with moisturiser for a similar effect.

Ive been using bare minerals complexion rescue and its great, very good for sensitive skin, light and subtle. But its £30 so pricey.
I am going to try this next time I'm in boots as I love the mascara and there was a thread here recently praising it , its currently 2 for £12

I quite like the City Lights product. Boots No7 have discontinued all sorts of things over the past year.

Okaaaay · 13/06/2022 23:46

Thanks all. I might go crazy this time and try a couple of your suggestions. Will report back if I do! The Rimmel product looks promising

I've switched to the one @Fizbosshoes has. Not noticed a big difference. Am pissed off the Natural Collection is being discontinued though. Hate having to find replacements for things that work.

Rest assured, the formulation of this product remains the same, giving you great results it says this on the boots website of the one I'm looking at. Is it not the same?! Nooo
