Skin undertone

Any experts or make up artists around that could tell me my undertone. I've tried everything and still can't figure it out. I went to buy a tinted moisturizer at nars and she matched me with a warm toned shade and I've always thought I was cool for some reason and now I am even more confused and not sure if to go back and try another shade.

Sorry I'm not an expert but I was driven mad with this and looked into it for myself as I was given conflicting advice.

Are you wearing a foundation there? I think you are cool toned but the 'yellowness' in your hair is giving your skin warm vibes. I bet toning your hair or even going ice blonde really suits you.

Thanks for replying. I'm only wearing eye makeup in the picture. I'm glad I'm not the only one as it's driving me crazy trying to figure it out.

Your skin has a pink tone to it in the photo, so you are definitely cool toned.

You know that advice that's always given, to check whether your wrist veins are blue or green? Never worked for me. All I could see was dark veins, could never say what colour. So I've always gone for (and been analysed as) a true neutral. Very hard to get a good foundation match.

Could you be a neutral? My skin is very pale but kind of olive, I tan easily but can burn (not my face though as I wear sunscreen and a hat in hot countries).

Just from your pic you look slightly "warm", so possibly a warm neutral? Have you been colour matched at Mac?

You have beautiful skin btw.

I used dcypher online skin tone analysis and then bought their foundation after they sent a sample. I was really impressed with the match (from phone's camera in good natural light) but they'd have helped me tweak the shade if not. I also like the foundation. I hate the feel of makeup but chose the sheer formula.

I had assumed I'd be cool toned as I'm pale with grey eyes. However I was neutral/warm. This explained why none of the foundations I've chosen for myself have ever looked right!

I'm no expert but you look cool to me, I see pink not yellow but pics can be misleading. Go to MAC and get tested in Studio Fix Fluid (it has the biggest range in terms of shades so they'll likely have sth which suits you down to a T), then google what it says.
I'm NC15 in SFF and google tells me I'm light or light plus skin tones with yellow, moderately yellow undertones, so I'm warm.
If I need a tinted moisturiser I'll google sth like tinted moisturiser for NC15, (there's Reddit pages, blogs, etc,) and I'll get a bunch of results as SFF is one of the most reviewed foundations ever so chances are high sb will review what I want compared to it.

If you hold something white and then something cream under your face, which one looks better?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 13/06/2022 00:39

You look neutral to me.

Sunnytwobridges · 13/06/2022 00:59

You look cool to me. I think they say look at the color of your veins and if they are blue you are cool if they are greenish you are warm.
