Cos mystery shorts

I bought these shorts in store for an incoming holiday. They spoke to me in a happy holiday fun kind of way. They were right next to the swimwear so I assumed they are beach shorts but they don’t exist on the website and now I’m wondering if they are in fact PJs.
What do you all think? And more importantly does it matter if they make me smile?

I like them. They don't look like PJs to me.

I feel like I have seen them, or something else in that pattern in a recent COS email. I’m going to investigate!

There was a matching loose vest top but I can’t find that online either

Sewing Bee this week had mens PJs as one round and one contestant's offering was deemed too much like beach wear. I suspect the crossover between the two is quite a personal decision!
