Fashion trainers which aren't Vejas

Need to replace my old converse which are falling apart and thought i'd get something a little more robust and comfortable for walking longer distances. I really like the look of Vejas (which I know everyone has at the moment) but not the price.

I bought some adidas Stan Smith but the tongues are really long and will hurt so these will go back. Maybe adidas Gazelles? Do they have a long tongue?!

Can anyone recommend some other brands? I wasn't keen on any New Balance stuff. What is Superga like? Their sizing looks difficult. What other brands do people like? I see some good ideas on here so I thought i'd try.

I'd rather not spend more than £80.

I found Vejas really uncomfy but I love my Supergas. I find them true to size

warofthemonstertrucks · 10/06/2022 14:55

Superga are my go to every day white plimsolls. I find them very comfy and they go with everything. Cut nicely low on the foot so flattering on the ankle. I find them much comfier and more wearable than converse-though stick with canvas ones rather than the leather ones they do in the same shape-the leather werent as easy to break in.

I also have new balance (purple and green ones) and some Nike air max (green and orange ) that I swap in at will.

If you want more high tops Nike blazers...

Adidas Superstars are the most comfy trainers I've ever had. V similar to Stan Smith, but much shorter tongue. I have a pair of Gazelles too, which are fine for days when I'm just mooching around, but for being on my feet a lot, the Superstars are the best.
I ordered a pair of Vejas a few years ago, but found them really uncomfortable, so they went straight back.

I love my superga, especially for summer, I go down half a size to my usual and they fit fine. It’s a bit over your budget but Air and Grace are amazing if you can stretch to it. They’re very comfortable and they wear well too.

I didn't see your thing about budget - I just ordered some new superstars yesterday directly from the Adidas site, and they had 20% off, so they were £65. Free delivery, arrived this morning.

Air and Grace are nice. V comfortable and you don't see them everywhere.

JofraArchersFastestBall · 10/06/2022 15:07

Have a look at Gola Grandslams. I love mine - so comfortable, a bit different to what everyone else is wearing and they come in a great range of colours.

Mercurial123 · 10/06/2022 15:53

Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 are my favourites. Vejas and Superga too heavy. Also, Veja are v v uncomfortable.

IvorCutler · 10/06/2022 15:54

Adidas samba and forum are trendy at the moment. Also Gola, as pp suggested.

IvorCutler · 10/06/2022 15:55

I feel about 103 using the word trendy.

WhatNowwwww · 10/06/2022 15:59

Victoria really comfy look a bit like Veja.

FailingToFindTrainers · 10/06/2022 16:42

Thanks all. Will check out all those suggestions. Flowers

intwrferingma · 10/06/2022 18:24

I don't get the Veja love. I find them uncomfortable.
I wear Air and Grace.

blibblibs · 10/06/2022 18:24

Superga are my favourites, so much so I have six pairs.
