Early October and I look like hell! Please help!

Just a small do and I’ve bought a dress off the peg “to diet into” except I haven’t stuck to the diet. hair is ok, skin is red and blotchy, nails are awful, my arms are covered in KP and Ameliorate hasn’t helped.

I’ve got 3 months. Could I get 2 stone off? I can do Pilates or spin every day. I’d like to tone up too but really it’s the fat that’s the problem.

Can I do anything to sort my nails out? Skin?

Oh and I have a v crepey décolletage- any ideas?

WWYD? Feel like I need a boot camp.

I would buy a dress that fits you.
Drink loads of water and try to eat as healthily as you can.

You can do a lot in 3 months. Cut out excess sugar and alcohol for your skin and weight.

I always recommend weight training for women, it's really effective if you stick to it. All you need are cheap hand weights or a kettlebell. There are some good videos on youtube for women - Nourish, Move, Love or Johanna Soh. If you did 25 minutes 3 or 4 times a week you would see some really good results in 3 months.

As for your skin, you could start on a good skincare routine. I would be wary of recommending tretinoin or a prescription strength because in 3 months you could still be in the iffy stage of purging etc. But there are some ingredients that help redness, improve skin tone etc. Look up the skincare threads on here and get a basic routine going if you don't already have one. Also start using SPF everyday, even on your neck and chest area.

For skin on your arms, a body lotion with salicylic acid or glycolic acid in it should help smooth out and get rid of bumps. I use one I get from the states called Alpha Skincare lotion with 12% glycolic, but there are others you could get in boots or wherever.

Losing weight is more about what you eat than exercising. You're going to put a lot of pressure on yourself trying to diet into a dress. But weight training is going to tone you up and change your shape. Can you get a personal trainer a few times to set you on the right track?

If you're getting married in October, you can get a dress that covers up your arms and other areas you aren't happy with. A good foundation can cover up blotchiness without looking like you've applied your makeup with a trowel. Go to Sephora or a makeup counter and get some samples to try before the day. You can have your nails done so I wouldn't worry about that.

And what's your diet like? How large are your portions? Do you drink alcohol? Fizzy drinks? Biscuits? Anything you can cut out or replace with something healthier?

Thank you for this advice. Buying a different dress is definitely my plan B.

I’ve ordered some of that Alpha lotion, thank you.

Buy a dress you love and makes you feel good now.
Feel happy about your body and try and eat a bit more healthily. Avoid processed foods. You mention a diet - what is it? Very restrictive diets aren’t good in the longer term. Be kind to yourself and look forward to your wedding x

losing 2 stone in 3 months is possible, that’s just over 2lb per week. Definitely possible but you will need to be consistent and start now.
my advise would be
1/ cut alcohol out if you drink it
2/ go to a gym class a few times a week consistently. I found the group dynamic of classes motivating.
3/ consider joining a slimming group - not everyone’s cup of tea, but I did it, followed the plan very closely and it worked a treat.

nails- don’t worry, see a nail tech, they work wonders for average of £30 for shellac, and maybe £40-50 for acrylics. Your nails will be incredible in 1 hour.

good luck op! X

Reducing sugar and refined carbs made a big difference to my KP so make that a priority if you can. It will help with losing weight too.

It depends on your budget but professional facials (eg HydraFacial) can definitely make a substantial difference in 3 months. Injectable moisturiser like Profhilo would also give a decent improvement on both face and décolletage.

I'm assuming you've already met your husband to be ? In which case , he loves you as you are and there's no need to turn into someone else for your wedding. Buy a dress you love that fits you,get your hair and makeup done professionally and enjoy your day x

It's good stuff but it's quite thick, so I mix a few pumps of that with a lighter body lotion (I use Cerave), plus that makes it last longer.
