Can I curl/ wave hair this length?

I had my hair done last week and am not happy with it. It's too blonde and too short. If I don't heat style it it looks like this, but constant heat styling plus all that bleach will wreck it!

I'm not too bothered, it will grow and I can change it, but how can I style it in the meantime?

I really like the curly/ wavy look and could do it with my GHDs when it was a bit longer, but it doesn't work on this length. The curl is too 'big' and I can't get it right. It just turns into a voluminous mushroom.

Do I need a new tool? A wand? A tong? Or just a new technique?! Teach me oh stylish ones!

If you are concerned about heat damage AND you want to do different styles I would consider getting a dyson airwrap if you have the budget.

It's been a game changer in the condition of my hair

How about overnight curls, either around rags or soft rollers. Alternatively you could plait your hair overnight. I've had good results in the past with all of these.

I'd also try overnight curls.
My daughter does hers with a dressing gown belt

Thanks! Will give overnight curls a try- though the thought of sleeping with is not appealing!

Sadly, the air wrap is out of my budget (maybe one day!)
