Long Tall Sally - are they for giants only?

I’m 5ft 10in and most tops/jeans tend to be too short on me … so I ordered from Long Tall Sally …

omg what a laugh!! I bought 3 tops, all were almost down to my knees. I bought a parka jacket which is nice but again feels massive on me and I bought a pair of paperbag jeans …

now in fairness the jeans are literally the most comfortable jeans I’ve EVER tried on but Christ, they’re huge!! I bought a size 14. I know they’re meant to be baggy but these felt like pyjama bottoms (hence why they’re so comfortable I suppose!) but they were so long I had to roll the legs up 4 times just so that they’d sit on my ankles.

im conflicted, I LOVE the feel of the jeans but I’m worried they look stupid. Am I just so used to Ill fitting clothes that I now feel weird in stuff that’s actually meant for tall people?

I should really post a photo of myself wearing this stuff right? Anyone else think the clothes from LTS are absolutely massive?

I've bought a few tops from LTS - despite being 5ft 4in!! (I've never bought bottoms from there so can't comment on that). I have a really long body for my height and was sick of getting tops that were too short, which is why I gave LTS a go. Their tops are a good length on me so seems crazy that they are so long on you!

5'10" here too and just returned one of their maxi dresses, honestly it was comical. 'Normal' maxi dresses are usually ankle swingers on me but the one from LTS made it look like I was a child trying on my mother's dress for fun. No idea how they are still in business given the presumably small number of giant women looking for ridiculously long clothing.

Yes I am 5ft 10 and had the same problem with LTS

AllHailKingLouis · 07/06/2022 16:51

Comical is the word! I was laughing my head off at the sight of me in the mirror 😂 similar to you, I felt like a child walking about in my dads jeans 😂

Maybe you’re supposed to hem things so that the length is right on you? So LTS makes clothes long enough for a 6ft 2 women and then you hem them if they are too long so they will fit 5ft-9-6ft2 or whatever range they’re aiming at.

I’m 5’10” and find LTS really hit and miss. Some of their stuff is fine, but some is stupidly long, and the sizing is ridiculous - at 12/14 I’m usually in a small for tops.

Their styles are equally hit and miss, sometimes it looks like their suppliers got the ‘order’ and ‘do not order’ piles confused. The styles do seem to be a bit better since they were bought out, but the majority of items seem to be made of synthetic fibres which is not what I’m after for long summer dresses etc.

LTS has gone so downhill since they changed hands (I assume that's what happened because they were going to close). But they were never that great except for long inseam. I find their tops useless. I used to buy their pleated jersey trousers but they don't seem to make them - just really baggy harem trousers that look great on the model but like clown trousers in real life.
Agree they have always run large.

legalseagull · 07/06/2022 17:30

Agreed. I'm 5'9 so short by their standards, but bloody hell id need to be 6'4 to wear their trousers!

This thread is so interesting. I'm 5ft10 as well and have been eyeing up some LTS stuff as never bought before.

I'm 5'10" and bought a dressing gown from LTS. It trails on the floor, it's insanely long 🤣 I can wrap both myself and my baby in it when I'm feeding her. It's very cosy, but very long Grin
