Help! What to wear to Ed Sheeran

Springersandchampers · 07/06/2022 09:23

Hi everyone! As the title suggests I’m desperately looking for an outfit to wear to an Ed Sheeran concert at Wembley. I assume this would normally be an easy style, BUT we are in the One Twenty Lounge with all the hospitality bells and whistles so I have absolutely no idea what to do. I don’t want to go too casual but also not inappropriately dressy! I’m not a concert go-er by any stretch of the imagination. If anyone can throw me any suggestions I would be endlessly grateful!

Not pink, cos it'll clash with his hair!

SleepingStandingUp · 07/06/2022 09:27

How about smart jeans and a nice top and comfy flats? So comfy but tidy.

Or a light material dress and flats.

Are you standing or sitting? You'll be on your feet mostly so comfy shoes are the most important

Springersandchampers · 07/06/2022 09:33

We have seats, and also champagne reception and meal before hand so lots of sitting. But then do people stand even if they have seats? I’m looking waaay to much into this.

I would wear a lightweight dress with leather biker jacket and high top converse or similar in darker colours if evening show / lighter if daytime.
Look at Hush Penelope dress in the black /orange print for an idea .
Good hair and make up, nails etc for a polished finish.
We have been to many corporate hospitality events and you will have a fabulous time.
There will be a real mix of people in the box , some of whom will only be there for the hospitality and a real mix of ages usually too.
Enjoy .

Nothing helpful to add except you are so lucky. I'd love to be going.
Enjoy.

I was in stadium hospitality at an Ed Sheehan gig last month, and there really was no one ‘look’ — a lot of the people there were corporate sponsors and their guests or families and the like, rather than fans, and a big variety of ages, so were just doing their own thing (there were men in chinos and polo shirts or suits on their way home from work, and women wearing everything from corporate suits to dressy jumpsuits to dressed-down gig wear. (I wore jeans, biker boots and a Cure T-shirt, a friend wore a Toast dress, some 20somethings around us were wearing clubbbing gear.)

Thank you! This sounds like something I would be comfortable in. Will the converse be ok though? I feel like I’d look silly in heels but I can’t get my head around the pumps/trainers thing

Wear what you want! Converse will be much better than heels at a gig. Go comfy.

HOTHotPeppers · 07/06/2022 10:21

I'd wear a midi dress, converse and denim jacket.

spagbog5 · 07/06/2022 10:21

@Springersandchampers
It will be fine, honestly.
If you are really worried you could wear biker boots as someone else suggested but it really depends on the weather as you don't want to be a sweaty mess !
Otherwise some summer sandals would be good.

Oh the weather too 😳
I’ve got myself all worked up about this. We’re taking someone from a big client of ours and his wife. We do lots of lovely things I’m never worried but this is out of my comfort zone (being a concert) and I’ve never met this client so I’m overthinking it.

It sounds like midi/maxi/midaxi dress with converse and leather or denim jacket. I’ve found a nice leather jacket from Allsaints the cargo leather one and maybe the platform converse in black? I’m on the shorter side of short so it’ll give me some height 😅

Thank you for the insight! 🙌🏼That’s sort of the vibe I’m getting, there’s no one look and I just want to strike in the middle really. I think I’m going to start with the jacket and work backwards?

An Ipswich Town FC shirt- he is their shirt sponsor and indeed number 17 in their squad.

MakingNBaking · 07/06/2022 11:02

I would be rocking my 'too posh to dress up' vibe.

The chorus to which is 'I can get away with wearing these jeans because don't you know who I am? Well, I'm not going to tell you'.
And the bridge goes 'when there's hospitality, I'm wearing an elasticated waist'.
You'll have a great time.

SecondarySnob · 07/06/2022 11:06

Everyone will stand for the concert part (I go to a lot of events in hospitality suites etc) so definitely comfy shoes.

I'd go for a summery dress, denim jacket and converse. Or jeans and a nice top of it was cooler.

Hahaha you are my people!! Love this.

CottonSock · 07/06/2022 11:11

Just a warning if you are buying online, the allsaints jacket is tiny. I needed a 12 and am normally a petite 8/10.
