Just caught sight of my face and got the fright of my life! I can't remember it looking this bad and need help to fix it!
What the hell reduces this texture?!

The only new thing I've started using is the laneige skin refiner for extra hydration. Surely that won't cause this hideousness?!

Looks like you just have visible pores to me, this is a good video on the topic

The texture is normal - it's skin pores. However, you can vastly reduce the appearance. What you need is powder! I know it's not fashionable and people go on about 'dewy glow' but powder will reduce the pores. After that you can add a bit of dewyness back if you want it. For that you need a very finely milled highlighter on strategic points like the cheekbones and tip of Cupid's bow.

Last thing you need is powder. It's only sink in and make you looked caked on.

You need retinol and some acid exfoliation, used on alternate nights.

@ChardonnaysBeastlyCat, I disagree! Only looks caked if it is applied on top of too much foundation. Tinted powder (compact) on makeup free skin is fantastic- it reduces the appearance of pores and evens out skin tone. Other than that blurring creams also work. I'm 50 and this works!

OK. Glad it works for you.

I know the whole "pores are not doors" thing but I honestly don't thjnk they were this bad last week
This is after 15hrs so make up was looking a bit Ropey and probably accentuating the issue but it just looks awful in real life.
I do use lactic acid, azeliac acid and retinol alternative nights with one night of from actives to pump in moisture then repeat.

Maybe just a combination of bad day and bad lighting angle. I'm sure no one will ever notice, apart from yourself.
