Wedding guest shoes - CANKLES

Im going to a fancy wedding soon, wearing a longish (midaxi?) navy dress and need some new shoes to go with it.

Im quite slim but cursed with cankles. Can anyone recommend a sandal shape/style that will flatter them? Dress isn’t bad for flattering the cankles but ideally I’d be able to wear the shoes with other stuff too. Don’t want a heel too high as I have to run after a toddler all day.

help me please!

The classic advice is to go for nude, pointed and high heels with no ankle straps, so pointed nude courts would be my choice.
If they must be sandals then high heeled nude mules.

As an established cankle owner I used to only wear high healed court shoes, however I’ve recently discovered that block healed open toe mules don’t look completely sh*t either and they are my new go to evening shoe with kids around. And the heel doesn’t have to be too high either.
I have something similar to these from Zara and I also wear them with cropped barrel leg jeans

Oh thank you @Procrastatron - haven’t tried that style and think they’d look good.

I don’t think I will cope in pointy heels all day and kitten heels are naff aren’t they?

I have the same issue, though the shoes I have been looking for are for a funeral but I want to wear them again. I am not a court shoe person and cannot walk in anything over a kitten heel. I have just bought a pair of Hush Puppy Elena sandals, which I think look smart and I can wear again. Not sure if they are dressy enough for your dress or a wedding though. I've not bought them from this link, just it showed all the colours available www.shoestationdirect.co.uk/hush-puppies-elena-womens-crossover-casual-strap-buckle-sandals/

Those are nice @longtompot and look really comfy but the wedding is very posh (men in morning dress if that gives you an idea!) so I think not posh enough.

@Brideandprejudice those are gorgeous but I couldn’t last all day in those. Have to herd a 3 year old and 18 month old around so need to be able to run if needed 🤣

I am also blessed with cankles and I recently discovered that Mary Jane shoes with a strap going down the shoe are flattering. I can't wear court shoes they won't stay on my feet but these (or slingbacks) stay on and avoid an ankle strap.

@Polpetto
Those Kurt Geiger very high heel mules you liked suggested by Brideandprejudice come in flat and did come in a kitten heel. They were the Dutchess kitten heel. I think they might be discontinued 🙄 but if you google you might find a pair. They came in nude, black and a sparkly grey/silver. Glamorous but walkable in because of the kitten heel.
There appear to be lots of copies of that style around with the embellished strap.

Please don't get ankle strap shoes as they always accentuate cankles.

Yes I thought I'd seen a lower pair! The style would be great for OP.

There's a lot of similar pairs around, the original is by Jimmy Choo.
