Dressing gown for MIL

Not exactly style but you lot know your onions so....
She's going into hospital and needs one.
Cotton too thin but fleece too thick. What's in between? Towelling? Any other ideas?
I've said I'll sort it, rather too enthusiastically after wine ...

Toweling can be very thick and heavy, even the really low thread count ones.

I got a kind of thicker cotton one from a men's section that would do the job. I mentally referred to it as the impractical one. I think it was all style, even if it was ugly grey.

Waffle dressing gowns are perfect for hospitals. Just avoid white as marks are inevitable...
