Eyelash curlers do they work…?

Do they work even for short straight lashes?

I’m thinking of investing in some as my lashes are ridiculously short.

Yes! Heat them with your hairdryer first for extra oomph. I never apply mascara without curling first; often just curl and go.

Sickoffamilydrama · 05/06/2022 18:44

I'm don't wear a huge amount of make up but eyelash curlers are one item I really miss whenever I've broken mine. They really do make a difference.

SullysBabyMama · 05/06/2022 18:44

Absolutely! I would never use mascara without eyelash curlers first!

Binglebong · 05/06/2022 18:45

I find them really painful but i have tiny eye sockets - can you get smaller ones? And are they meant to leave you with a right angle in your lashes?

Lastminpanic · 05/06/2022 18:47

Shu umera are the best! Make sure you get right to the root to avoid the crimped look

WeAreTheHeroes · 05/06/2022 18:48

Sounds as though you are using them incorrectly @Binglebong - they should have a kind of cushion on one side which stops this happening. The idea is to get the curler as close to the roots of your eyelashes without catching your eyelid in. I wouldn't be without them and I have quite long lashes; they really open up your eyes.

WooNoodle · 05/06/2022 18:49

Yes they so! Don't heat them.

MangoLipstick · 05/06/2022 18:57

Yes!

I see a very noticeable difference in how long my eyelashes look if I don’t use them. They are a must!

WeAreTheHeroes · 05/06/2022 18:57

I wouldn't heat them and I've been using them for years.

ghoulie · 05/06/2022 18:59

Recommend the Tweezerman ones - the only ones that have never pulled a single lash out and curl beautifully.

beechhues · 05/06/2022 19:01

If you can afford it, lvl is nice for a treat too.

Regularsizedrudy · 05/06/2022 19:02

Yes but there is a knack! You have to kind of ‘pump’ them VERY close to the lash line for best results.

pepperaunt · 05/06/2022 19:14

My eyelashes are long but poker straight. I find putting one coat of mascara on then curling before adding layers works

Pootles34 · 05/06/2022 19:16

I'm amazed at those that heat them - sure it works but to put something hot that close to my eye?! No thanks!

Tinks15 · 05/06/2022 19:21

Thanks all - I didn’t know if they’d help my lashes or not. I’ve had LVL before & not been overly impressed.

Thats what my next question was going to be... I’ll have a look at Tweezerman & Shu umera

I loved my Kevin Aucoin lash curlers.
Until I found out that they don’t have refills — you have to buy a new one every time.
Nope.

sageandbasil · 05/06/2022 19:35

I have short straight lashes and now always curl mine they make such a difference!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 05/06/2022 19:38

Yes they do and the best ones are from Primark for a couple of quid and I've tried ones that are over £20.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 05/06/2022 19:38

Primark ones are better than Shuemera!

Avastmehearties · 05/06/2022 19:42

They do work- buy cheap ones tho and use right at the lash line or you'll get a kink halfway up

TheOGCCL · 05/06/2022 19:57

Would never use mascara without curling first. I have short, sparse in lashes, really makes a difference.

I had some heated dior ones. Difference is they are designed to be heated and the temperature they reach is controlled carefully.
