Gold jewellery for everyday

I see a lot of women wearing really lovely fine gold necklaces and earrings that look really sparkly and bright. Does anyone have any idea where the good gold jewellery is from? The stuff I see looks a bit thin and nondescript. Can anyone recommend any brands? I'd be happy to spend up to £200-300

For reference I wear quite colourful cotton dresses from pink city prints, lexy London, toast etc.

Have you had a look on Etsy and NotOnTheHighStreet? I've had lovely jewellery from both in the past.

Can you go to a jeweller’s to look in real life? Jewellery is so hard to get right online because everything is photographed in the best light!

Monica Vinader is lovely and reasonably priced

A lot of shops do stainless steel jewellery which is gold plated, there's a lot on etsy, also eightyeightjewellery.com

At that price point you are looking at some form of gold plating.

There is a lot of friction on gold chains so the plating will wear and go dull quite quickly. The best quality is Vermeil which is gold plated over sterling silver. It has the thickest gold plating. Gold filled (rolled gold) is the next and the poorest and cheapest is gold plate which will wear and tarnish very quickly.

Vermeil would probably be the best choice. The makers claim it will last for many years.
