Petite dresses - where else can I try?

I'd like some reasonably priced simple fit and flare dresses for the summer but am not having much luck finding any. I've got a couple from Seasalt which are lovely but can't find much else - have tried M & S, Next, Debenhams, Boden etc. Any suggestions of places or shops selling shorter regular length? Thanks

I find ones from Tu at Sainsburys are ok. Primark does a petite range now too. What irritates me is that I like long maxi dresses where you really need a petite length made but they rarely appear.

Popsy? They also do free alterations if you ask at the time of your order.

Definitely not Popsy. Just shortening a dress does not make it suddenly fit correctly. I'm 5ft and can only wear dresses from a Petite range as otherwise the waist is in the wrong place and the shoulders just don't look right. The original Popsy short dresses from 2017 were great for petite. Definitely not the dresses they make now.

I've not seen much fit and flare this year. It all seems to be milkmaid style. I would usually look at TU, New Look, and Dorothy Perkins. I do have a couple of dresses in that shape I bought online from Apricot a few years ago, so it could be worth checking.

Ah ok. I am short and just got a Popsy dress that suits me, but may depend on body proportions too( length of torso Vs legs).

Lands end usually have some fit&flare type styles in petite fittings. I've not really looked at this years.

I wouldn't wear popsy in the summer, they're all polyester aren't they?

TheLette · 05/06/2022 21:29

I normally wear knee length dresses (5'3") but none of the shops seem to be selling them. I actually just bought some midi / midaxi dresses from a range of shops and they are maxi on me but I actually really like them (and feel vaguely fashionable for once). They feel nice for warmer weather. So maybe time to try a new style?

If you do insist on knee length, have you looked at Boden? I think they have a few options and they also have length information for many of their dresses so you can check how long they will be on you.

They all look like they’d be very sweaty or highly flammable.
