Tretinoin strength

Hi, I’ve been using The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane for a couple of years but would like to try something stronger. Looking at Tretinoin World I’m thinking RetinA 0.025%? Is this the best starter or could I go straight to 0.05? Any advice gratefully received!

Look at dermatica.. or skin and me ...

I use skin and me and the dosage started very low it's super potent it was 0.006% the strongest they prescribe is 0.03% which is what I'm on now. It's definitely strong enough sometimes my usually very insensitive skin can get dry from it. You can use my code for a free month if you want to try it's :

Thanks both, that’s very interesting. The monthly subscription ones look really good as I’m wary of going too high a strength.
@Cotswoldmama thank you that’s very kind 😊

@Jayne05 no probs, I like you was looking for Tretinoin online and after lots of research decided to try skin and me. I been using it for nearly two years and they've been really good. I had a few weeks being fine on 0.03% and then had some peeling and I messaged them and they straight away sent me a new lower strength doser at no extra charge.i also find that as I don't use it everyday if my skins feeling a bit sensitive that my doser can last longer than a month. It's really easy to pause a month or change the date your next one gets delivered by a few days/ weeks.

@Cotswoldmama thank you, yes I think going with a prescription based routine is best as I know it’s very easy to start too strong with Tretinoin. Good to know you can pause a membership too

I started at 0.025 I think, I've found 0.05 is my optimum. My skin did tolerate 0.1 but I had to moisturise so much it was exhausting!

Best start the lower one and see how you go. I use Dermatica too. Really happy with it.

I have just come back from menorca, you can buy tretinoin from most chemists, its called retirides there, for around 20 euros which can last 10 to 12 months depending on how many times a week you use it, I brought 0.05 % , as when I last went 2 years ago I did buy the 0. 1% but was peeling to much as it was too stronge for me, its much cheaper then dermatica, just need to find a friend who's got a holiday booked to spain.

Last time I checked Tretinoin was a couple quid in Portugal but it's prescription only.

lindyloo57 · 07/06/2022 08:41

Wow couple of quid, thats cheap, mind you, no need for a prescription in Spain, you can just buy it over the counter.
