Gorgeous smelling body lotion, not too expensive

I know this has been asked on here before, but I'm struggling to find a lovely smelling cheapish body lotion/cream/moisturiser that I can just slap on every day without it becoming too expensive.

I tend to use White Company stuff - Seychelles and others - but it's a little bit spendy for me for every day use.

Any suggestions? I prefer scents not to be too heavy (musky) or massively fruity like some Body Shop stuff (don't really want to smell like a giant walking mango).

Thanks!

I like the sanctuary spa in shower moisturiser, you put it on wet skin. They have a few different scents, it's about £6

Is there an essential oil you like? You could maybe use Aveeno as a base as its unscented and add a drop of oil? I love love love Patchouli and Neroli.

Thanks, I'll have a look at this. Didn't realise they did different scents.

Interesting! Hadn't thought of that, thank you.

& other stories smell is very long lasting, I've been really impressed.

I use ‘Butter Me Up’ body butter by Laidbare.

It’s on Amazon for £7.87 right now and to me, smells exactly like Shampure by Aveda.

It comes in a tub and you don’t need much if you put it on when you’re still damp from the shower.

I use Lavera. They are light but good at keepingn skin moisturised, don’t cost too much and have good ingredients. I find them at my local natural store but also sold online on several websites.

I hadn't thought of Other Stories. Looks interesting - do you use the Sicilian Sunrise body lotion?

Nivea lotion - Coconut & Monoi Oil. Very subtle & leaves skin lovely & soft. Not greasy.

I have very sensitive skin & do not react to this at all.

TotalRhubarb · 04/06/2022 12:02

One of the Soap and Glory ones (Clean on Me?) smells v similar to Coco Mademoiselle and is really moisturising in a way a lot of more expensive lotions and creams aren’t.

Sounds good but I'm hoping for a really long-lasting scent rather than subtle.

Ah yes, I forgot about Soap and Glory - Clean on Me is lovely. I'll see if they are doing any offers at Boots, they usually are. Thank you 😊

Highland soap company do nice ones...

Pandorapitstop · 04/06/2022 20:37

Palmer's cocoa butter lotion is one that I always come back to.

cottagegardenflower · 04/06/2022 20:46

Soap and Glory 'no woman, no dry' is gorgeously fruity and always gets lovely comments. Not expensive. I bought several tubs at £2 as they were discounted. No idea what the full price is but its not an expensive brand.

Haven't tried the No Woman No Dry but I'll have a look for it. 🙂

I'm a devout palmers cocoa butter user. I use it as a daily moisturiser and after sun. It's divine

As you like White Company, I'm surprised nobody yet has suggested the Aldi dupes! They really are ever so good and I personally can't tell the difference between the White Co. bergamot, amber and vanilla moisturiser, and the Hotel Collection (Aldi) copy. The packaging is similar too. So this one, which I like, is called "Paradise" under the Aldi Hotel Collection, and the description is - a tranquil blend with notes of bergamot, orange and soft peach; leading to a heart of coconut and jasmine on a creamy base of amber, vanilla and almond. It's a direct copy and costs something like £2. Don't be put off by the fact it's a supermarket brand - it's excellent and well worth a try!

Thanks for this! I didn't know Aldi did these, I will definitely have a look. 👍
