Using retinol night cream and tretinoin

I wonder if someone can advise me. I use a retinol night cream regularly. However, I have begun to use tretinoin every night before bed. Is it safe to keep using the night moisturiser or is it better to use a moisturiser with no retinol in it?

It entirely depends on what product it is, eg. 1% Paula's Choice is a very different thing than an Olay night cream with an unstated amount of retinol.

However, if you've been tolerating tretinoin from never using it to using it nightly without issue so far then in all likelihood your skin is probably able to handle a lot of abuse without acting up.

Comparatively retinol strength is very small in relation to prescription tretinoin so it's probably unlikely that it'll tip the scales.

It's not something that makes a lot of sense to use in tandem but if it's just a matter of finishing up a cream you already have then it's most likely fine.

What about using the retinol cream on your neck, as the skin there tends to be far more sensitive. For example I have been using tretinoin for the last few years, and still cannot tolerate it on my neck, so have to use over the counter retinol instead.

If you have just started using tretinoin, you may find that using it every night is far too much and you get extreme irritation on your face. It is advised to use it slowly and build up tolerance.

I've been using the tretinoin for a couple of months now, I built up gradually to using it every night. I had an Olay night cream but stopped using it when I started using the tretinoin as I didn't want to overload, so I was wondering if it was okay to use both the tretinoin and the Olay with retinol or to just find myself a different kind of night cream. And if so, does anyone have any recommendations

You're not supposed to use more than one type of vitamin A at the same time. You're already using the mother of all retinols, tetrinoin...
I used retinol over glycolic ac. and I regretted it straight away! I wouldn't dare putting two retinols together tbh!
If you feel tetrinoin isn't working. for you, maybe you should see a dermatologist and look into stronger stuff like chemical peelings and the like? And if you, please, do come and share as I'm interested!
