Straighteners to replace GHD’s

I have a wide set of GHD straighteners & they have never felt as good as the original pair I had. They feel like they drag slightly through my hair & are not a smooth glide like when at the hairdressers. The hairdresser said they’re not as good as they used to be & recommended Cloud Nine.
Can anyone recommend any other straighteners that they’re pleased with and that don’t drag?

I got the Diva ones when my GHDs blew up. They’re pretty good, as good as the original GHDs from years ago and half the price.

Babyliss EQ

These are very good, and a bargain. I mean they’re not as amazing as the old style ghds but they’re pretty close -

I went from GHD to cloud nine and really rate the cloud nine ones. Better temperature control and glide better over my hair with no snagging.

Why when cloud 9 are excellent.

I rate these too. To be fair I rarely straighten my hair but love these and the temp control too, you hardly need much heat at all.

Cloud 9 for definite!

Firstinlastout · 03/06/2022 16:40

I bought cloud 9s after hearing lots of good comments, really wish I hadn't now. They snag my hair,I keep cleaning them so it's not anything to do with product being on them. Also they make my hair very flyaway.Im absolutely gutted because for me they were very expensive and I wouldn't normally spend that much on something like that.

I use L'Oréal Steampod but still use T3 one pass ceramics. They are multi voltage and good for travel to US and Japan.

I use L'Oreal steampod these days as it's much less damaging on my weak highlighted hair. But before you fork out for anything expensive I would really recommend trying these Babyliss ones. I've had a pair in black for years and much prefer them to my GHDs (which I really need to get rid of as they're old and shite). They've been used heavily but the coating has never gone snaggy.

Im on my second Babyliss velvet orchids after years of ghd use. Only bought twice becausethe first ones got stood on... my Dd has some too. Happy to recommend. Use them most days.
