Insta accounts for pear shapes

I love scrolling insta, especially style based accounts. Mostly I follow women with a colourful, quirky style. Recently I've noticed that most of the people I follow havd a completely different body shape to me. I'm a slim pear shape, the instagrammers seem to all be slinky of hip.

So...does anyone know of any accounts focusing of clothes that flatter a pear shaped figure?

I'd like to know, too!

I'm another pear shaped lady, I do wonder about setting up a style Instagram channel, not sure if I'd be able to do it separately. Would be a fun way to share ideas.

I have the following ideas. Obviously a lot depend on height, individual style and colour preferences, colouring, leg shape, bum shape (my bum is huge, but fat and long, in other words big without being a J-Lo bum. I find the following works.

I'm small of nork so actually find high necklines or halter neck shaped better. Anything with shoulder detail works and I think big sleeves are our friend.

Some examples of tops

Another thing I find that works well is the old body suit (a bit 90s I know). I like the way they pull you in and give a smooth line.

In terms of bottoms, I tend to steer away from trousers cause I think they make me look bigger than I am. If I do wear jeans, I tend to go for mid rise cause high rise styles make me look huge.

A line shortish skirts are another good one. I recently bought this one from you've guessed it River Island. I find the detail in the middle quite flattering, I got a similar style in gold leather at Christmas.

Any short slim pears please? There seem to be NO clothes made for my shape.

Oceanus · 06/06/2022 22:07

I'm a short chubby pear but when I was slimmer I loooooved maxi dresses. They made me look a mile long. I loved those floaty, chiffon-type dresses. I usually added a belt because I feel that emphasised my small waist. I also loved (and still do) cinched at the waist maxi shirt dresses (though those are hard to come by tbh).
They don't suit me anymore as I'm not as slim but boy I rocked pencil skirts big time if I can say so myself!

garlicandsapphires · 06/06/2022 22:16

And.bloom is sort of pear shaped. Great on 40+ style

minipie · 06/06/2022 22:18

Yep I do love a maxi dress - if I can find one that’s not too long and has a waist!

Pencil skirts do work on me but only with high heels, cba with those these days Grin

Skater style dresses are another go to for me and I expect all pears.

Trousers are harder …

Oceanus · 06/06/2022 22:39

I love maxis even without a waist. When I was slimmer I loved bodycons too -not too snug just enough - and for those without a waist I had a few belts and just picked what looked better. Wide belts can be very forgiving but narrow ones make me look taller somehow (or at least it feels like it in the mirror).
Skater dresses I love looking at but when I put them on they can look weird/short on the back. I prefer A-lines.
I hurt my right foot so let's not talk about high heels! 😭
Trousers are a pain because they often have a gap at the back. I love bootcuts in general and for summer I love satin wider legs (but not really palazzo as I find those too dangerous) with an elasticated-waist: classic/chic yet comfortable, and there are usually funkier colours and patterns.
I'd like to add, before getting a breast-reduction I was a proper hourglass and I just looked frumpy-ish in maxis.

gunnersgold · 07/06/2022 12:56

@minipie I'm 5 foot size 10
Hourglass if any good .
What clothes are you after?

gunnersgold · 07/06/2022 12:57

I tend to wear waisted trousers with a tight vest as it shows off my waist . Lots of nice dresses around too!

Oriunda · 07/06/2022 13:39

Chloe dall’Olio on Insta. She does these great #fridaytwinning reels with Trinny Woodall where they wear the same item.

gunnersgold · 07/06/2022 14:41

Chloe isn't pear shaped , she is hourglass .
