Help! Clothes to wear for gentle running?

Help! I need to shift some lockdown/peri/having quit smoking chub, and would like to do Couch 2 5K. I have trainers but no other “sports clothes”, what do I need and from where? Just leggings and a sports bra? Can I wear a normal t-shirt? What about my phone, do I need something with pockets?

I’m a UK 10/12 and would rather not spend a lot of money if I can avoid it.

I wasn’t sure if this was style and beauty but I am definitely not a good fit in sports/exercise!

The M&S Good Moves range is fantastic. Great quality and value for money, lots of mix and match pieces. I love the two part tops.
plus the leggings have side pockets big enough for an iPhone.

Great, thank you - it turns out there’s a Decathalon shop here so I will go next week.

in terms of testing I would usually do the third run on Sunday - is it better to leave it until Monday maybe? I wonder if I land funny on that foot. I am used to doing a lot of walking - today 20k steps including the run - and am not overweight. It feels more like something is pulled rather than a joint pain.

Resting, not testing!
