I’m going to a summer wedding & purchased this dress.

not sure what colour shoes & bag to go with? The model has light green shoes, that’s a bit matchy matchy for me plus I probably wouldn’t get wear out of those colour sandals outside of wearing with this dress.

suggestions on shoes and bags to complement dress (but not be all the same green shade ideally!) I’m used to heels but it’s a wedding so will be standing/dancing, so shoes that will ideally not kill me.

thanks! :)

That's a lovely dress but I think it looks more like a bridesmaid dress

loopshot · 31/05/2022 07:23

But... you asked what colour shoes and bag. I would say a beige colour

PorkySisyphus · 31/05/2022 07:23

Er, that's a bridesmaid's dress?

Procrastatron · 31/05/2022 07:28

Style and beauty is generally a nice place but I think you need to be warned that people will be pretty direct with you about this looking like a bridesmaids dress.
With that in mind I think you need to style it away from that look with something quite bold and bright. The Kurt Geiger party bag for example with a bright/neon coloured shoes. Maybe a block healed mule for comfort, Zara usually do some.

The bouquet should have been a dead giveaway 😁

NashvilleQueen · 31/05/2022 07:31

I think the bouquet means it's quite clearly a bridesmaid's dress!

In terms of accessories I would therefore do everything to 'dress it down' so definitely not silver, gold or sparkles. And no tiara.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 31/05/2022 07:31

I'd choose either a neutral colour or something bright that clashes. Like hot pink.

I think it's a very pretty dress, who cares if it's a bridesmaid dress, a lot of the websites I've looked at for dresses put the guest and bridesmaid dresses in both searches.

AverageJoan · 31/05/2022 07:34

Agree with PP, go neutral like nude or something completely opposite like hot pink or navy blue.

Ps, love the dress

Caspianberg · 31/05/2022 07:36

Yea that’s definitely a bridesmaid dress. It’s more dressy than my actual wedding dress. So I would be hoping to dress it down a bit.

Probably tan wedges or flats.

BundtCake · 31/05/2022 07:36

Gold. But it’s very bridesmaid!

YellsiBabs · 31/05/2022 11:00

I agree it does looks bridesmaidy but I have showed it to the bride & she gave her approval. Her bridesmaids are wearing floor length navy dresses. I am tall so the light green dress is above my ankle (big longer than midi but not floor length), not floor length.

Thanks for shoes/bag/accessories suggestions :)
