Hit me with your recommendations for the best cream bronzer. Is the Chanel one really worth £43?
I see Charlotte tilbury have a new one too but I've always found their products a bit of a let down! Damn good marketing though lol!!

Well I bought it and I am wearing it today. I am very inexperienced when wearing bronzer and have had the SA apply it three times to me to make sure that it was right. The third time was at Boots and the lovely SA (affiliated with another brand) took me to the makeup mirrors and showed me how to apply it and also took me to the brushes section in Boots and suggested the brushes that I could use to apply it. I am wearing it today and it doesn’t look like orange! It’s really subtle and I hardly needed any of the product.

I have the Charlotte tilbury one which is lovely, I find her cream products to be so blendable. It’s also not too warm toned. Dd2 has the Fenty one, I’ve tried it and it’s also nice. I like that they both come in deep shades, I wouldn’t buy Chanel as their shade range is bloody horrible although I hear they have broadened it to be more inclusive now.

I have the Chanel original shade one and have always been a bit underwhelmed by it, but maybe it’s my application as it gets rave reviews- anyone any tips on the best brush to apply it with?

And is it best over foundation or as a primer?

I do fancy the CT Bronze and Glow but been disappointed in a few of her products before so reluctant to splash out.

Recently bought the VB powder bronzer and was impressed - 2 shades in the one pan. Pricey but huge so should last a long time.

Hi I have the primark dupe of the Chanel bronzer and it's bloody good. Cost me £4.50 and I love it. I wear it even on non make up days. Highly recommend

hopeishopeless · 15/05/2023 22:03

Interesting thread. I don't actually know what bronzer is (I don't wear make up because I don't like the feeling of things on my skin), but like the sound of looking a bit more alive. Can you use the Chanel (or Primark) ones like (eg) Nivea cream? Or are they supposed to be used with something else as well? Sorry if that's a dense question.

troppibambini6 · 15/05/2023 22:08

Chanel by far the best one and in my opinion well worth money.

troppibambini6 · 15/05/2023 22:12

@hopeishopeless although it's called a cream bronzer it's actually in a pot and a solid brick so you use a large brush and just brush it onto the bits of your face that would naturally catch the sun, so cheek bones, forehead and nose it just makes you look a bit more glowey and alive. The Chanel one is pretty fool proof because you can use a little bit at first then add more to get the colour you like.
I've not used the primark one but the people at the Chanel counter will show you how to use it on your face.

Hi - did you get it from primark?

troppibambini6 · 15/05/2023 22:12

And not dense at all Smile

hopeishopeless · 15/05/2023 22:14

Thank you, @troppibambini6. Asking at the Chanel counter is a very good suggestion, too!

troppibambini6 · 15/05/2023 22:18

@hopeishopeless no probs don't let them convince you you need some expensive Chanel
Make up brush to apply it, you really don't just go to boots if you haven't got a big brush and look for a bronzer brush.

Cece92 · 15/05/2023 22:26

@amarante yes I did. I didn't know it was a dupe until after I bought it and I love it. For £4.5 you can't complain xxx

Niftythrifter · 16/05/2023 03:15

i apply the Chanel one with no 450 Real Techniques brush. The brushes were buy one get one half price on Sunday when I bought mine at Boots so if the offer is still on you could pick up something else too. The SA who give me a tutorial in using the bronzer took me over to the brush section and advised me on what brushes would be suitable.

hopeishopeless · 16/05/2023 08:44

Thank you @troppibambini6. I don't possess a single make-up brush so could well have been talked into buying a "special" one!

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 18/05/2023 23:06

i have the chanel
one and it is not super pigmented

The Nars one is quite good but the Rare beauty one in the stick form is fabulous

the other one I was really impressed with is Revolution Cream Bronzer - it’s £6 and really very nice

Lndnmummy · 19/05/2023 21:23

@NorthFaceofthelaundrypile do you rate rare beauty over chanel? I might guve that one a go...
