Can anybody please help me checking if this purse is authentic Vivienne Westwood? I'd be really grateful.

Pictures are too small to be able to see enough detail - Mumsnet really need to fix this issue.

What makes you suspicious?

Leib · 29/05/2022 14:00

I can only give more pics, if that would be helpful

I am rather suspicious, because i am buying it from a person, not in a boutique

Have a nice little trip out, to a dealer, ask them to identify it, properly. Pay them.

Where's the label?
The stitching looks off in one of the photos.
It's a no from me.

Leib · 29/05/2022 14:11

It's second hand, so there are some signs of usage

This wouldn't include wonky stitching though?

It's also being sold on a marketplace type website which doesn't make me very confident.
You could try submitting photos on a more knowledgeable identification forum.

My ex was head of anti counterfeiting at Trading Standards, he was always doing reports on fake goods so I know what to look for but sometimes they are so close to the original and it's very difficult to tell from a photo.

You can't tell from those photos but VW is usually excellent quality and the stitching would be perfect and the pattern would be aligned (unless it's an intentional mismatch). The only way to be 100% sure is to go to VW.

I'll check stitching more precisely when I'll see the item in person

Is it so cheap that it's worth the gamble? They're not that expensive new are they?
