What do you do to get your feet sandals ready?

I wanted to book a deluxe pedicure before my hols but all salons are very pricey where I live and I feel a bit bad wasting money for something that won’t last long (I wouldn’t get gel nails, just normal polish). I don’t have particularly problematic feet but I would like them to look pretty and polished for the sandal weather. What do you do to keep yours at their best?
The only thing I do right now is use a pumice stone in the shower once a week or so. In the summer I usually wear nail varnish (I am very good at doing my hands but less precise on my toe nails I find). Do you also have tips of what nail varnish to use? I want one that is very shiny and long lasting - I do also use a top coat. Majority of my nail polishes are essie.
Thank you for the tips :)

Totally @Hoppinggreen and the vile mocking of other women is the worst!

I inherited one knife from a relative. It was the last remaining of her wedding set from 1933. I did wonder what to do with it until i realised how sharp and flexible it is. So now I use it as a foot scraper after my shower. Great great aunt Blanche would approve I reckon. Well she lived till she was 104 and still walking so who knows? Maybe she used it in the same way 😆

other than that I nicked my mums Margaret dabs stuff in a pot and put that on under socks.

et voila!!!

@Hoppinggreen I most certainly wouldn't be staring, a quick glance would be more than enough.

wow @userxx are you 2ft tall?

I'm a big fan of footner, but you need to plan to use it - it says you'll have soft feet in 5-10 days, which is true, but it's because the hard skin basically peels off.. I don't let my feet out in public for at least a week afterwards as it's basically a chemical peel for your feet.. and my feet look like they are shedding for a week or so afterwards.

But they are lovely and soft and no dry heels anymore, just need to do it at least a couple of weeks in advance.

Is footner safe?? Sounds a bit scary!

Moisturise, pumice and polish.

I like white polish when I have a tan, navy or dark green when I don't.

Best polish I've found is Barry M gelly polish. I only use it on my toes as I always my fingernails done in salon, but it seriously lasts forever on the toenails.
