Are there any beauty treatments you have cut back on due to the rising cost of things?

I have found myself cutting back on a couple of things. I stretch my hair colour out to about 10 weeks now and dye the roots with root touch up at home. I have always done my own nails and just stick on some Boots ones. Anyone have to cut out or cut back on treatments you were finding too expensive?

My eyelash extensions,I look awful without them but they were costing £90 a month.

Nope. But I just have my hair cut and coloured every 6 weeks and a pedicure at the beginning of summer. Apart from that it's just make-up and I'm happy with No7 foundation, powder blusher, etc, but do.like an Estee mascara and a good lippy.

I'm going longer between pedicure with gel nails, longer between hair cuts and colour , now going every 6 weeks. Same with massages. I've reduced the number of chiropractor appointments each month.
I've given up paying for yoga sessions and use the ones included in my gym membership
I'm only having a spray tan before a night out rather than once a fortnight

I'm still having chin and lip threading with eyebrow tint and eyebrow tidy up every three weeks.

Not so much because of costs but just because of covid I got out of the way of having them done ;-

  • Bikini wax - I just use hair removal cream instead
  • Eyebrows- to be fair I could do with having them done, but very little availability at local salons and my preferred beautician must have left either because of Brexit or covid

All of them. Anything I still bother with I DIY

I wonder if I could do eyelash extensions myself (not clusters, individuals)

I'm definitely buying less clothes, and trying to buy well too. I don't need to budget but I'm becoming very cost aware. I've started eeking things out, so finishing things off, cutting the tops off expensive tubes - there's so much left inside. I will be looking for dupes of expensive brands. Some of the luxury stuff is just a treat so they will be the first to get downgraded if required.

Sorry I didn't answer your question. I'm not cutting back in any treatments but I only have my eyebrows threaded as needed, hair 3 times a year and nails for holidays. But it's an easy way to save. I'd recommend stretching out time between appointments to save money, or having things done only when you have a few occasions. Also maybe shop around.

I’ve stopped dying my hair, stopped having my legs waxed, stopped bikini wax, stopped eyelash tints,

Grumpybutfunny · 27/05/2022 19:23

Not cut out but got my nails done at the local salon instead of the "instagramable" one, gone for a darker all over colour vs blonde highlights on dark brown hair to extend it.

I've cut back on buying clothes but still keep up my hair, makeup, lashes, nails etc as I like to look out together at work.
