Is a full head tint the same as permanent dye and does it damage hair?

I’ve had a ‘full head tint’ today- is this permanent colour? I just wanted to cover a few grey hairs up but I think she’s gone a bit too light (she was supposed to match my natural hair colour so I didn’t have the whole root regrowth problem), am I going to be stuck in a cycle of having to touch up the regrowth every few weeks and damaging my hair?

Depends if she used a permanent or semi permanent colour. Did she not specify?
