Wedding guest dress - Sept wedding

Hi all,

I'm looking for some style advice! I'm going to a wedding in September and I am wondering two things:

  1. If this dress is suitable (I.e - not too bright & no hint of a baby pouch/too tight at the back. I'm 6 months postpartum and will by 9 months pp by time of wedding)

  2. Not sure which accessories (shoes/bag) would work. I'm thinking Nude, Cream or Black as I would like to use again.

Thanks all! 😊

It’s a lovely dress and would be suitable but it does look a bit small particularly at the back. Could you size up?

Bellyups · 24/05/2022 16:14

Love it op

Thank you! I am happy to size up but I have a feeling if I do size up it will then be too big on the bust.

Love the back!

I think if you've got 3 more months to go you may be fine - are you breastfeeding? (Just thinking boob size changing!)

Think nude shoes would go best

Thank you! I was thinking nude shoes but have yet to find a pair I like and could walk in.

And no, formula feeding :) so the boobs will stay as they are!

Lovely dress, perfect for a wedding and I'd say size wise it looks just right. If you size up I think it would be too baggy.

Fuckitydoodah · 24/05/2022 16:42

I think you could also have gold or silver shoes or sandals

Threetulips · 24/05/2022 16:49

Can’t quite see the colour of the smaller flowers - chose that for shoes - can you post the colour and we can have a look? Shoe size would be helpful.

But lovely dress.

Afrodizzyak · 24/05/2022 16:53

Lovely dress!
Nude shoes would look great.
Looks good fit to me.

SisterAgatha · 24/05/2022 16:54

Love this! Cut outs are so in at the moment!

gymgirl11 · 24/05/2022 17:00

Thank you for these - I didn't consider gold or silver so more colours to consider :)

The smaller flowers are a mixture of: white and yellow with a hint of the pink from the dress - will try and get a close up! :)

Shoe size is 5.5UK.

Thank you so much!

Will probably lean towards a nude or silver shoe I think!

Thank you for all your comments so far!

I've posted a close up photo of the flowers if that will help with the accessories. They are a mixture of white/blue, yellow and pink.

Jewellery wise, I'll be going for white gold (colour of my engagement ring)

Shoe size is also 5.5UK - Next are normally my go to as they have a forever comfort range!

Don’t accessorise it with black. Pick out one of the colours in the flowers. A burnt orange clutch could go well. Or pink.

Stuckandinamess · 24/05/2022 17:51

I love the dress, where did you get it? I wouldn't go for black shoes, maybe nude or pick out one of the colours from the print

Great advice with extra colours, I didn't think of burnt orange!

Thank you. It's from Coast! They also sell it in black with the flowers on.

It's a little on the pricey side (even with the discount!) but I plan to wear it to many things over the next few years :)

Nude seems to be the way forward!

Will be lovely once fascinator and buttonhole added.

Lovinglife45 · 24/05/2022 19:00

Nice dress - flattering on you.

Is that your bra showing at the back?

I would opt for nude or yellow shoes (think I saw yellow flowers on the dress). Black would look to harsh.

and no it's not (not wearing a bra in the photo). It has a button fastener at the top to create an oval cut out & then a button fastener in the middle so it has a mini triangle cut out.

Yes, it has yellow flowers on. Not quite a bright yellow, more an ochre so could also be a choice.

I hope the PP that suggested a fascinator was joking....

The dress is gorgeous, I think nude, gold or silver shoes would go best!
