How much do you love your Airwrap?

Seriously considering a Dyson Airwrap.

Are they worth the money?

hmm not sure I’d repurchase it. It’s good. But not sure it does a better job than my Babyliss BigHair + colorwow for the results I want. Daughter uses it too and loves it…..I’d advise buying via QVC for the 30day no questions refund if you don’t like it?

Sofasogood1 · 22/05/2022 18:55

I asked my hairdresser about this. She says it's good but still requires effort to use - you still need to blow dry and section your hair etc if you want to look good. and perhaps not worth the HUGE difference in price between it and much cheaper things which also require effort.

That's a good idea, I've never purchased anything from QVC but that seems sensible.

I love mine! I love being able to go curly, straight or blow dried/volume. It’s honestly one of the best things I’ve bought. I never really bothered with my hair before but it literally takes 15 mins for lovely, bouncy, wavy hair. I couldn’t part with mine now.

CyrilBasket · 22/05/2022 19:13

I'd give up most things before my Airwrap!

jenthehen · 23/05/2022 13:20

Yes live mine, treated myself for a big birthday, felt extravagant but it’s transformed how I feel in the mornings. Daughter and her friends also love it as they form a queue to use it before a night out.

SugarandLime · 23/05/2022 14:09

I don't believe it's worth the money, but it is good. If it was half the price, I'd say definitely! It's certainly worth a premium price tag, but £500 plus?.. 😬 I think I was expecting miracles for that!

It takes quite a bit of practice to get it right and it's quite a faff to use. Especially if you're using the curling barrels and have to use a different barrel for each side 🙄 The curls are nice and natural, but will only hold the same as curls would normally in your hair.

Personally I just use the blast dryer to get it 95% dry and finish off with the barrel brush for the bouncy blow dry look and I'm impressed with that. The straightening brush didn't give me any volume or movement and I can't really be bothered with the curling barrels, as it takes forever and lasts 10 minutes.

If I could have just had the blast dryer and barrel brush for £200, I'd have said money well spent!

catfunk · 23/05/2022 15:48

I love mine.
BUT if I was skint I wouldn't spend the money on it as I can get a similar bouncy look with blow drying then tongs.

The hairdryer attachment isn't brilliant tbh - I can't get a very straight look with the hairdryer or straightening attachments.

catfunk · 23/05/2022 15:50

I mainly use it for the curling barrels - I have the long ones and my hair looks great with them. The key is not to brush them out until just before leaving the house

tiredmumof4teenagers · 23/05/2022 18:12

We were ripped off at Christmas. I opened a Dyson air wrap and was delighted.

I couldn't get on with the air wrap function and was disappointed but the brush attachment got good results.

Then, huge shock, we were contacted by trading standards to ask us to stop using it as it was supplied illegally and was dangerous.

I had no idea at all. It looks exactly like a Dyson air wrap, right down to the (fake) registration.

My husband feeling awful went out and bought me another direct from Dyson (this time). We had an opportunity to compare them.

I can honestly say I couldn't see any difference apart from the functioning of the unit.

The real one 100% performs. It's fantastic. I can do exactly as it promises. The fake one really doesn't do it, it's functioning at maybe 25%. So despite looking good and looking authentic it's not performing.

I'd been a bit upset that I couldn't get to grips with this very expensive Christmas gift, when it wasn't me, it was a defective fake product.

Expensive lesson learned. Only ever buy from Dyson website and never second hand or do one claiming to be a retailer. This scam was from a fake retailer.

The answer to your question is yes, it's fantastic but only the real one is.

housemaus · 23/05/2022 18:29

I love mine very much - but agreed that I don't think it's necessarily worth the price tag.

It's super easy to use and makes my hair look great - my favourite thing about it is that it's mega easy to spruce up my hair by throwing a couple of curls in in the morning when I've slept on it and I look a bit more 'done' than I usually do.

My (curly) hair doesn't hold an artificial curl very well, sod's law, so it doesn't last a long time unless I take ages sectioning, spraying with a mix of setting lotion and water, and pinning the curls up for a while after, which I rarely do, but it gives it a nice shiny finished look anyway and even if the full curls drop after a bit it still has movement to it. I think because it's hot air rather than hot metal like a curler, it's less likely to last - which is better for your hair, obviously.

So if you were any good with a pair of straighteners to curl and got a Babyliss Big Hair for the volume aspect, you'd save a fortune.

Sameiam · 23/05/2022 19:03

Love it but I'm useless with a curler. It being one handed is a lifesaver for boring bits where I can scroll Facebook at the same time. Not as good as a salon blowdry but takes about 20 mins for hair that I think is pretty enough for a dinner out.

Movers seem to have lost my big brush attachment though, which I'm really sad about. Some of the other attachments are useless.

What is colorwow?

GetOffTheTableMabel · 23/05/2022 19:10

I don’t love mine and I feel awful about it. It was a gift from DH.
I love my Dyson Supersonic but I follow with a Babyliss Sheer Volume Rotating Brush or a Revlon One Step.

Brideandprejudice · 23/05/2022 19:17

Biggest waste of money ever. I only use it for the hairdryer.

The curls last less than 10 minutes.

Isabelle70 · 23/05/2022 20:58

I have just got the long airwrap from QVC with 60 days return policy and I am also paying for it over the 3 month easy pay.
So far I like it and will style my hair rather than stick it in a scrunchy.

bertieb7 · 23/05/2022 21:03

I love mine, the curles I did sat morning still look good today!

user50and · 23/05/2022 21:04

I got one for my birthday and returned it back. I just couldn't get on with it. Back to my £20 Amazon curling tongs for creating beachy waves!

LottieTx · 23/05/2022 21:08

I returned mine, it would dry qand curl my hair beautifully and effortlessly but by the evening they were gone and I’d find myself going over my hair every morning. If I curl it with my babyliss or GHDs the curls last days.

YouWhatLove · 23/05/2022 21:10

I love mine and I’m completely cack handed and unable to do any basic things with my hair. The Airwrap is bloody easy though even on my massively thick haystack type hair.

Bobbins36 · 23/05/2022 22:12

@aaronsnorkelling this stuff. Some kind of anti frizz witchcraft. Bloody works too 😂

CharlieLo · 24/05/2022 10:11

I just ordered the new multi styler one from QVC to give it a go, as like the fact you can return it if I don't think it's worth the money.

Everydaydayisaschoolday · 24/05/2022 13:23

If you order direct from Dyson you can still return it within 30 days for a full refund AND they don't charge postage for the return (unlike QVC).

that being said I had one for over a year and didn't find it any better than a normal dryer. I sold it on eBay in the end.

missfliss · 24/05/2022 13:49

I have thick, long, bleached hair

It's amazing.

Silky soft and no damage, dead easy and super fast
