Difference between a BB and a CC cream?

Please help I thought a CC cream would be green or something to correct for redness but I have a sample of chanel CC cream and its just like a BB cream? What is the difference? I've googled but can't make head nor tail of it.

I thought CC cream had more colour/pigment so could be substituted for foundation whereas a BB was more like a tinted moisturiser.

Just logged on to say exactly what @WeAreTheHeroes said!

That’s what I thought. I have a green primer that I use for redness.

Ahh right I see, so if I want something green what do I look for? Not a CC cream? A primer?

Basically I need something green and was hoping this would be it!

For a green colour corrector try Dr Jart’s cicapair cream. £12ish for a pretty generous tub, and it’s also SPF30

Was just about to recommend Cicapair, brilliant stuff!

Sounds like you want a green colour correcting primer. I had one which did the job really well, but found it to be full of silicone (ingredients ending in -cone and -xane) and so I needed to use quite a strong makeup remover with sulfates in to remove it, and sulfates make my skin red and sore therefore making the red skin problem worse!
So I just use it on the odd occasion before a big night out now.

I third the Dr Jart Cicapair cream.
It goes on green but gives a little coverage, evening out skin tone and redness!
Can't live with out it now.

Thank you all so much!

The SPF is also what I was hoping for so that cicapair sounds perfect x

Boots do an Airbrush Away primer which is green to correct high colour. I bought the plain version of the primer recently and thought it gave an impressive result.

MySleevesMayBeGreen · 22/05/2022 17:59

Dr Jart is good and perfect for DD’s skin but it’s tested on animals so I won’t buy it again. I got her Erborian Red Correct instead.

MySleevesMayBeGreen · 22/05/2022 18:02

I use IT Cosmetics CC Cream and then a bit of foundation on top if I need more coverage.

Fancyateapottea · 23/05/2022 14:31

Erborian do a CC cream called red correct which is really good and takes away almost all of my redness whilst not looking like I’m wearing any make-up. It is green in the tube but turns skin coloured once on your face.
