Layering serums question- Vit c and hyaluronic acid

Hi,

So I really like the Hado Labo hyaluronic acid and am aware that you should always apply it on a damp face. It definitely does quenche my thirsty dull skin, but have recently started using the Vichy vit c. Apparently you're supposed to add the vit c first, then the hyaluronic acid, but will that still work the same on a face that isn't damp?

TIA

I wondered about this but have started layering my HA with a facial mist to dampen the skin pre and post. Would that be an option?

@MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet do you mean put the mist over the vit c?

As a general rule, you should layer products in order of thickness. I use my Hado labo hyaluronic first because it’s quite watery and then my vit c which is a bit thicker.

if your vit c is a lighter texture use that first, then add the hyaluronic whilst the vit c is still damp.

@StripyLlama seems to know what they're talking about, but I have been misting, HA, mist, then let it sink in, then Vit C (but my Vit C is quite oily and I like it nearer the end!).

I use both the Vichy Vit C and the HL.
I do vit C first as it's a watery texture and then the HL figuring the vit C has dampened my skin enough for the HL.

@PAFMO so you don't wait for the vit c to sink in first?

No, no time really Grin

Fair enough! 😁 I was under the impression the HA needed specially water beforehand.

My HA is lighter so I put that on first. Also, I was under impression Vix C needs to be closer to surface as it helps protect the skin.
