If you have acne scars, what foundation/ concealer do you use?

As the title says really.

I have acne scars and redness. I used Estee Doublewear for special occasions, and No7 hydraluminous during the day.

I still haven't found a good concealer. I use No7 powder.

I’m interested in replies to this as well. I’ve got acne scarring and I use Doublewear every day. I find I get good results if I use a primer like Porefessional. I also use the Estée Lauder Illuminator primer if I’m going out.

Would love to hear about any other primers that can smooth out scarring well.

I know you asked about makeup but if you have the budget, the best thing I’ve found for my acne scarring is a skin boost treatment called Neofound which is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment & has to be administered by an aesthetician. Really great results!

Different issue but I've been looking for a heavy concealer for covering dark and large dark spots.

The it cosmetics one, which is marketed for under eyes, I think it's called bye bye under eye, is pretty amazing! Worth a try for scarring I'd say.

Can I ask have you tried both the old and new Hydraluminous? Have they changed the formula or is it the same ?

Yes, the new Hydra luminous seems to be the same formula as before. It's without a doubt the best budget foundation out there.

Has anyone tried the IT Cosmetics foundation? The pictures of it look great

Hydraluminous is ok but I find the palest shade gives a weird sheen to my skin that I don't like and I do think the formula is different (not in a good way) to when I first tried it years ago when it came out, the longevity is poor and it oxidises more.
I prefer NYX born to glow which is a similar thing.

I always use a damp beauty blender and a stippling brush simultaneously to get the best finish and coverage.

I prefer a lighter base and then conceal with Nars radiant creamy concealer or collection lasting perfection. I apply blend with a tiny flat brush and 'press' the product on for scars with redness, anything else I buff on lightly with a stippling brush and build up.

Products wise I avoid the heavier foundations like double wear as I have drier skin and nothing looks worse (for me anyway) than areas of dryness being highlighted. IT cosmetics CC is very gloopy and thick and more high coverage than most of my foundations and not really a tinted cream at all IMO.

Armani luminous silk is nice, and my go to heavier foundation if I am going out is lancome teint idole ultra wear.

Laura Mercier secret camouflage concealer (comes in a palette with two colours that you mix together and apply with the secret camouflage brush) is the best concealer that I’ve found for acne scars.

I’ve also been using Skin & Me treatment for a little while and it has worked so well to lighten old scars and prevent new spots that I hardly ever have to reach for the concealer anymore.

I used to use Laura Mercier foundation with a damp sponge but now just use Colorescience spf 50 sunscreen on its own and the glow/tint from that seems to be enough to make my face even-toned.

It says its the same on the website. Such a relief!

I use the nars radiant creamy concealer or pat mgcrath - it's online only and the shade range is quite large so a bit annoying it's hard to find the right match.

Kat von D blend it really well you don't need a concealer.

I like Elizabeth Arden and Revlon.
