Event coming up on Saturday and I just can’t think straight. Event is is a woodland setting and host recommended wedges. Have a small silver clutch and will be wearing small teal fascinator. I’m 5 foot 3 and a size 6 shoe. Happy in heels. Just want to look as stylish as possible.

£100 budget.

thank you in advance!

UGG wedges are super comfortable and they usually do a few colours.

jeaux90 · 19/05/2022 08:46

Also Unisa, but not quite as comfortable as the Ugg ones

fluffyrainbowllama · 19/05/2022 08:47

I probably wouldn't wear wedges with it but what about a chunky nude heel?

Something like this?

jeaux90 · 19/05/2022 08:51

@fluffyrainbowllama I agree block heels would look better in nude or gold, but if it's woodland then the suede might get damaged/muddy

ahwobabob · 19/05/2022 08:54

These or something similar

For the love of god do not wear wedges with that dress.

MummyDummyNow · 19/05/2022 09:06

It's a beautiful dress but wedges wouldn't go at all. A block heel in black or perhaps silver might look good.

Have a lovely time!

PaulineMonicaMole · 19/05/2022 09:21

Thank you so much! My brain was truly fogged.

love the silver block heel suggestions - I’m going with the next ones.

now - as they are open toed what colour shoe polish? Oh my goodness, making one choice just opens up more decisions to make …………

In a woodland setting I'd be wanting to wear wellies or trainers!!

Black, nude, white, pale pink would work for toe polish colour. Tbh I think most things would.

Maybe match your nail polish to your lipstick / make up / eyeshadow :)

RubiesandRose · 19/05/2022 09:44

The Next shoes are by a brand called Linzi who have their own website with loads of heel options in a whole range of colours, they are my go to for event shoes!

Lovely dress by the way OP, where is it from?

SookieHouseboat · 19/05/2022 09:59

beautiful dress! Red nails would look amazing.

RubiesandRose · 19/05/2022 09:59

I would go with a pale pink or teal polish.

Definitely not red as you move into Christmas party territory with a green dress and red nails!!

SookieHouseboat · 19/05/2022 10:04

An orange based red would look amazing, not blue based. Red is always a classic, only someone thinking very obtusely would think of Christmas

Drame · 19/05/2022 10:08

Where is your dress from?! It’s beautiful

agree with others about no wedges or flats! If you can’t find a block heel you like what about getting some of those high heel protectors that are often handed out at weddings?

PaulineMonicaMole · 19/05/2022 10:09

thank you! I do appreciate all the help.

For those that were asking, the dress is from self-portrait. A talented stylist on here @nofrills helped me find it. She was nothing short of amazing because, as I’m sure you can tell, I’m clueless at style!

I’m a jewel winter, hence the silver bag, so I will be wearing fuchsia lipstick because it just does something magical to my face. I’m having a manicure and pedicure tomorrow so will take along photos of the dress and shoes while wearing the lipstick and get their advice as well.

@SookieHouseboat I am not being obtuse.

I just associate red and green as a Christmas look. It's my opinion and it's okay for me to give it, as it is for you to give yours without being insulting.

frillseeking · 22/05/2022 20:34

Just placemarking my name here for anyone interested x

itsnotmeitsu · 22/05/2022 20:53

The dress is lovely, but personally I wouldn't wear it with a fascinator. I'd pair it with Doc Martens, but that's what I'd like, not you. What I'd mention, as a tip, is that when I went to a concert in woodland (Dalby Forest) I wore short wellies and jeans. I thought I'd feel a bit out of place, but on the night it had been pouring all day and I felt as if I fitted right in, as opposed to those who were wearing high heels and short dresses. And I could also fight my way through the mud to the car park afterwards.

itsnotmeitsu · 22/05/2022 20:54

Meant my message for the OP.

RampantIvy · 22/05/2022 20:57

That is a stunning dress. I live near woods and walk in them regularly. I can't imagine wearing heels there. What will you do if it is muddy?
