Ok it might not be that stylish as such but I am curious to know if anyone has got any Jubilee themed outfits planned for the Bank Holiday celebrations?
I saw a couple of dresses I quite liked the look of a few weeks ago (Next) but everything has sold out .
Any ideas ?

I would like to know this too… anyone?

waltzingparrot · 28/05/2022 01:17

Well I was just going with a red white and blue theme, so white jeans, red linen shirt and blue cardigan if cool, blue sun visor if sunny.

2pinkginsplease · 28/05/2022 01:23

I would go with anything red white and blue. Meaning I would wear blue jeans, white t shirt and red converse.

This is when this ridiculousness comes into its own. See also: Eurovision

Thanks for the replies I thought I was alone in thinking about this !
Agree that the jeans and red and white is an easy nod to the theme though I don't think I have anything red !
We have three days of events going on one day includes actual fancy dress so I don't need to worry about going overboard .

@CharlotteSt assuming that is already in your wardrobe you have got it nailed !

I ended up nabbing the last one of this dress which is quite twee but will do me for the street party day !

@Shinyandnew2022

That dress is so perfect! Well spotted!

(and yes I do have the skirt - bought off the back of a thread on here 🙄)

Nosetickle · 30/05/2022 11:28

That dress is spot on @Shinyandnew2022 I’m still wondering what to wear (nothing like the last minute 🙄) I really wanted to treat myself to a nice special dress but worst case think I can scrape together a red, white and blue ensemble from my existing wardrobe.

PistachiokindaBear · 30/05/2022 11:37

I've got a white shirt dress with tiny strawberries all over it. I figured it was kind of apt.

Nosetickle · 30/05/2022 12:23

I love this dress… does it fit the theme of jubilee enough though?

Apparently it's going to be raining over the weekend in much of the country - better check it out, as that might influence your choice of umbrella outfit.

Here's a rather fetching DIY Britannia outfit

Is it just me that feels a bit sad that it’s just become another opportunity to buy a wear-once-then throwaway outfit? I’d definitely wear something I already had or buy something I genuinely liked and would wear again.

Gardeningfool · 30/05/2022 13:55

Unless it warms up a lot, mine is going to involve a fleece, possibly two.

I feel that way about all the stuff like paper plates and decorations that the shops are flogging, never mind special Jubilee clothes.

YouHaveAnArse · 30/05/2022 14:30

A guillotine?

Don't worry @Amelion nothing gets worn once in my world ! There will be other tea party's in my lifetime !

Also we all dressed up for other jubilees it's not a new thing !

I don't think anyone on this thread has mentioned a one off garment.
