Evening dress for wedding (bride)

I'm getting married in mid summer, and I have a lovely wedding dress for the day. I was planning to wear the one dress for the whole event but I had a fitting yesterday and got sweaty within minutes. I absolutely can't stand being sweaty, I'm ashamed to say that it makes me really distressed to the point I feel overwhelmed, so I am thinking I would like to have a back up dress for the evening in case I am struggling. But I have no idea of where to start even looking, and need some inspiration!

Clothes will need to cater for a chest measurement of 44" (I usually wear 34GG) - I generally wear between 12-16 size clothes, and I lean towards loose fitting items for comfort and because I have a tendency to get bloated. I'm told I'm a "rectangle" shape! I'd prefer a dress instead of trousers/skirt and top. I don't mind my legs on show and look good in skirts that are either floor length or sit just above the knee.

I'm looking for something a bit more grown up (I am 40 next year but I look much younger and have been working on switching up my look), and potentially recommendations that I can buy from more generally going forward. Looking forward to browsing your suggestions!!

Would any of these suit:

Dress 1

Dress 2

Dress 3

Dress 4

Dress 5

Dress 6

Dress 7

The dress that you do have - what is making it so sweaty to wear? Could you pick a different wedding dress that you can wear for the whole day instead?

These are very elegant! Thank you!

Could you use driclor into the run up of the wedding day?

Hadn't heard of this before. Have you used it?

My main issues are under-bust. I just hate that slimey feeling. I was wondering about applying talc to the area?

I'm really hoping that I can get away with the one dress. The seamstress' shop where I had my fitting for adjustments was small and windowless, where as our location is lake-side (not as fancy as it sounds it is just local to us!), so hopefully cooler. But I'd like to have a backup and of course its fun to look at clothes!

Great! If you like the Monsoon dress look at these guys too - they've got loads of comparable viscose long dresses - these for instance. 😊And low prices!

I've used it before yes, it changed my life honestly.
Under boobs I would go with talc.

I think I'd probably be looking more at the alterations to the main dress, it may be something as simple as a polyester slip in it which you could switch for a natural material and sweat less.

In the evening I think you should be taking the chance to go for the most outrageous gold glittery dress of your dreams because when else will you wear it? Something like this but cheaper (vinted?):

Nancy mac also do various glorious jumpsuits for about £250 and they'd hem it for you.

Love those Nancy Mac ones. RIP my bank balance.

Honestly, I would try and find one dress you’d be comfortable and happy in for the whole thing rather than getting a second. I very carefully picked a dress that was comfortable to walk, sit and dance in (empire line so no tight waist, and cap sleeved so no strapless bra) and my only regret was that I only got to wear it once- such a waste given how much it cost!

Can you get it dyed or the skirt shortened to allow you to wear it again? It sounds lovely 😍
