Grey hair from dark brown

My hair is dark brown (except where it’s grey…), I also have very dark eyebrows, almost black. My skin is fairly light, I am quite neutral although can bring out the pink or the yellow tones. The pink is probably easier though.

Anyway, I am getting so much grey now that I either need to be regularly dyeing my dark hair back to its darkness… OR I can go another colour and hopefully blend it.

i always remember dark ladies going red as they got older but I don’t fancy that. I’m not sure I can pull off blonde but I’m not ready to embrace the grey. What did others do in this situation? Any pictures gratefully received!

I'm interested in the answer to this too - my colouring sounds very similar to yours OP although I'm much more yellow than I am pink

I was fascinated by Julie Binoche's ash grey in The Staircase. She still has dark eyebrows and (obvs) eyes. I am pretty convinced that ash grey is the way to go - but the hairdressers I know all say it's very expensive to maintain so I'm sticking with my Garnier dark brown dye for now

It’s beautiful but I really worry about Greg making me look old. I’m already chubby and wrinkly without adding grey hair to the mix - beautiful or not!

I use olia golden brown or light golden brown which blends fairly well

Greg's a bastard like that 😁😁

I've got very similar colouring to you and lockdown came at a hugely opportune time and I went from the greys being super obvious against the dark brown to being much more evenly spread through my hair and actually makes it less obvious because the contrast isn't quite so harsh. Even my hairdresser has agreed to leave it.

Have you considered highlights? That's what I was looking at pre-Covid. I also mainly used semi-permanent dyes to cover as then I didn't have to worry about the roots, just hung on another box when the greys started to show again.
