If you have smooth legs

What do you do? I’m trying to be realistic about how much work this actually takes. I’m lazy, use an epilator about once a month and fake tan whenever I remember which is hardly ever. I’m very pale, quite veiny, goosebumpy skin, only epilate lower leg. But this is the summer I’d like to have smooth tanned legs. What does it take please??

use a razor with the jelly strip things - don’t use shower gel or foam, just use the razor and water

dont fake tan straight after shaving you get those little black dots and it doesn’t take as well - don’t shave for a few days, fake tan then shave the next day

use bio-oil as a moisturiser

Philips Lumea IPL has been a game changer for me. I always struggled with shaving as I'd get bad shaving rash and I've tried every tip going! I'm very hairy so wasn't convinced the IPL would work on me but it's been incredible.

Another vote for lumea- I have pale skin and black hair and am the hairiest woman I know but it’s killed off easily 80% of the hair on my legs and underarms. Can’t recommend it enough!

I'd say shave regularly as it also gets rid of the dry skin, use a really rich moisturiser daily and when you get your legs out use a fake tan make up (with slight shimmer) it always works for me but I can't commit to shaving regularly as I'm lazy and hate it, but when I have kept it up my legs look great.

How often do you use the lumea and how long did it take to notice results?

prediction500 · 17/05/2022 13:55

Another Lumea vote, although not a budget option.
Use every couple of weeks to start and then after 3/4 sessions just need to top up as and when required

prediction500 · 17/05/2022 13:56

Also worth noting it is best on light skin and dark hair

Tubbyinthehottub · 17/05/2022 13:58

Yes, IPL gadget and no epilating!

Peeeas · 17/05/2022 13:58

Can you use lumea now, or does it make your skin too sensitive in the sun? Is it better to wait until autumn to start on a regime for next summer iyswim? Or okay now?

TheFlis12345 · 17/05/2022 14:09

Lumea for me as well! I initially used it 7 years ago and have barely had any regrow than since. Now is an ideal time to start as it works better on pale skin than tanned. Just be careful not to have too much sun exposure the day before or after you use it.

qpmz · 17/05/2022 14:12

I got mine professionally lasered about 15 years ago and it's the best money I've ever spent!

dontgobaconmyheart · 17/05/2022 14:22

it takes me about 30 seconds to do a quick lather and swipe of the razor on my legs in the bath each evening so I don't consider it any effort at all.

Once every week or two if I can be bothered I do a full body scrub with a pair of exfoliating gloves . I do put bath oil in the bath and moisturise everytime I batheor shower because I have dry skin so have no choice so that probably helps, but I don't consider it any effort and do consider myself pretty lazy.

Tan wise i prefer to just wait to tan my legs naturally and like my pale skin as much as a tan. I sometimes use vita liberata body blur (or the cheap rimmel equivalent) if I want to wear a shorter dress or shorts and need an instant fix, they make your legs look great.

Tinkletwat · 17/05/2022 15:38

Body brush, I notice a difference in a few days. That and a good moisturiser

Tigofigo · 17/05/2022 15:59

Body moisturizer with AHA... when I use Ameliorate for 2 weeks it makes a difference.

Spray on leg make up is brilliant too

Thanks for the advice. As I suspected, it takes time, effort and money! I will give it a go though
