Does any have any inspo for comfortable but stylish plane outfits.

I'm stuck in a massive rut but been really making an effort to feel better about myself and how I dress. I don't want to revert back to black leggings and t shirt combo

No one cares anymore, it's not a thing! Wear whatever you are comfortable in.

bedsidetab · 16/05/2022 19:01

joggers are more fashionable than leggings & comfy for a flight.

PomRuns · 16/05/2022 19:09

midi dress ? With cardi or poncho of get chilly. Much comfier thank trousers imo

Raggeo · 16/05/2022 19:20

I love leggings for flying. Could you wear a dress with leggings so a bit more stylish than a tshirt or sweatshirt? I wouldn't wear a dress alone, incase my legs got cold.
Jogging trousers could work but depends on your body shape. They just don't suit me.
I have a pair of harem style trousers I often travel in. They are navy and usually just with a white top or a striped top. I think any summer style trousers would be fine, as long as comfy on the waist. I'd avoid wide leg because they will drag along the floor of plane/airport and get filthy.

I'm not bothered about what is a thing. I want something I'm going to be comfortable in for travelling that isn't leggings and a top like I said in my OP 👍🏼

Thank you I have some similar trousers that are comfortable and could work well for travelling

But OP cares?

@NightOwl101 It might help knowing your shape / height. Joggers are more fashionable than leggings - and conveniently more comfortable. Or a co-ord set. I recently bought this which I'll wear on my next flight.

I always wear jeans and then layers on top. I've done this combo for business and pleasure, from the Maldives to Finland. It works for me.

NightOwl101 · 16/05/2022 19:34

Thank you, I'm petite height and size 12 so curvy for my height

I would personally go for a dark bottom eg navy or black, a tshirt & sweat (but not matching) or tshirt & loose shacket.

AnSionnachGlic · 16/05/2022 20:27

If it's a sun holiday I like to wear an elastic waist maxi skirt with a vest top and cardigan. I can whip off the cardigan when I get there.

LunaTheCat · 17/05/2022 09:33

Loose trousers /joggers
Layers - so t shirt, jersey and big scarf
I have worn t shirt dresses on a flight.
Always have spare change clothes and undies.
For a long flight I take 2 face cloths in plastic bag and will strip in toilet - wash myself with one and dry with second.

DailySheetWasher · 17/05/2022 09:52

For my upcoming long haul flights it'll be:

Faux leather leggings
Super soft bamboo tshirt
Longline merino cardi
My roomiest trainers

Carrying or tucked in the cabin bag for extra cosiness while sleeping overnight and if the destination is cold:

Oversize teddy coat (effectively a wearable blanket!)
Cashmere jumper
Fluffy slipper socks

Jaxinthebox · 17/05/2022 09:53

I usually wear linen summery trousers, t-shirt/shirt and cardigan and a big pashmina scarf as Im usually cold on a flight.

Mercurial123 · 17/05/2022 13:12

I recently wore bamboo yoga trousers, t shirt, cashmere sweater on stand by and Birkenstocks. Personally I wouldn't wear a midi dress or jeans for a long haul flight.

Can I ask whether you are travelling long or short haul, as that would dictate (to me) what I wear. If I go long haul, I usually take leggings to change into on the flight and a clean outfit for arrival (especially if there is a difference in climate change) but short haul, I would just put something comfortable on. As others have said, I think that nice joggers, a plain white tee shirt and white trainers would look really nice and be comfortable to wear. I always take a jacket / cardigan / wrap as I am always cold on aircraft. Wherever you are going have an amazing time.

bananaramaa · 17/05/2022 13:25

I've bought these black jersey peg trousers from ASOS and gonna style them with a white bodysuit too
They are so comfy but still look stylish

Same question as poster above, short, medium or long haul?

Which class of travel?

Are you arriving into somewhere hot/cold or travelling from cold to hot?

Lndnmummy · 17/05/2022 13:55

I have a 5 hour flight in a few weeks so no sleep etc and I am travelling with kids including a toddler. I will wear a maxi skirt (elasticated waste, no crease material) with a fitted T- shirt and soft linen mix sweatshirt. Once I arrive in hot destination I will take off the sweatshirt and wear the fitted T-shirt and maxi skirt. It makes me feel dressed enough but is still comfortable for when kids are in my lap, needs the loo, walking up and down the aisle etc. I adore the joggers et clook but at 5.2 and a size 12 it just doesn't look stylish or put together on me so I avoid. I have a french tall and very slim and she looks so chic in hers. I am in awe but yea sadly it looks nothing like it on me.

GoingBacktoSchool123 · 17/05/2022 14:07

Saint & Sofia style wide leg apartment pants, fitted t-shirt and longline cardi. Pimped up with a scarf and nice trainers. That is my travel look whatever class Om travelling in.

FelicityFlops · 17/05/2022 14:28

Last time I flew (about 3 weeks ago) I was in business class, long haul, and wore a Weekend Max Mara top and matching silk trousers (wide leg, elasticated waist) with a knitted Hobbs cardigan (no buttons) and also had a pashmina in my bag.
To be honest people were wearing whatever they felt comfortable in.

Serenity45 · 17/05/2022 14:42

Another vote for maxi skirt here. I wear one with an elasticated waist. Fitted tshirt or vest top with a light fitted cardi. Depending on the weather here I might have a pair of leggings on underneath, which I can then take off before we land if going somewhere hot. I'll also have a light knitted wrap with me as an extra layer if needed. Birkenstocks for footwear (I live in them for about 7 months of the year anyway and they are very forgiving for swollen plane feet)
