Christening Midi dress

Hi I need to find a christening dress for my sons christening in August

I dont really wear dresses but when I do I can vaguely pull off a midi dress (knobbly knees!)

I am a size 16 but have a large bust (K cup) so sometimes need an 18. Maybe something with longish short sleeves (not sleeveless) or longer sleeves are OK too.

I've googled my eyes out but because I never wear dresses I have no idea what would work. Tips please!!

Why do you feel you need to wear a dress to this if you never wear them otherwise?

It's also very forgiving on the tummy area, which was a bit requirement for me!

I want to wear dresses but am not the biggest fan of getting out of my comfort zone with clothes. And I'm really trying to change that and feel a dress would look nice for this if that makes sense.

See I wouldn't even look twice at a dress like that but it's lovely. My husband keeps saying why are you looking at really loud dresses 😆 which is true. It's because I have no idea what I'm looking at.

That totally makes sense. I was just worried you thought you were expected to wear a dress at a church function.

I do sort of feel that way you're right but also want to wear it for me too I guess. What do you think of these??

But I guess you'd have to be quite flat chested to pull it off, which OP is not. Shame.

@ChickensandCows my experience of dresses like the light blue one, being similar size as you, is that I look matronly.

George dresses can be hit and miss. But the first George is something I'd wear.

I think ChoiceMummy may be right about the pretty blue one making someone with a larger bust look matronly.

Thank you 😊 I'm not overly keen on the one that's a winner 😆 shows how unfashionable I am! It is lovely but I'd be worried how I'd look in it. Anymore suggestions welcome but I am going to order and try on the ones mentioned thank you.
