Christening Midi dress

Hi I need to find a christening dress for my sons christening in August

I dont really wear dresses but when I do I can vaguely pull off a midi dress (knobbly knees!)

I am a size 16 but have a large bust (K cup) so sometimes need an 18. Maybe something with longish short sleeves (not sleeveless) or longer sleeves are OK too.

I've googled my eyes out but because I never wear dresses I have no idea what would work. Tips please!!

Why not wear a trouser suit if you are not comfortable wearing a dress? Thought you were meant to be relaxed at your child's christening? Who told you you have to wear a dress? Stand up for yourself and get a smart trouser suit...

Monsoon do some lovely floaty dresses, perfect to hide areas you don’t like! Khole button through dress is pretty. www.monsoon.co.uk/khloe-button-through-dress-in-sustainable-viscose-3407341522.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6Nj3t8OZ-AIV-Y9oCR1aTgWlEAQYBSABEgIXKPD_BwE

I wore a Jolie Moi dress from Silk Fred for DD's christening in August last year.

It was the same style as this one but a different colour/pattern. The dress itself is like a heavy jersey so it hung really well and was so comfortable. I got a lot of compliments on the day on it

No you misunderstood, I want to wear a dress and like them but don't always have the confidence to pull it off. But I feel wedding's and christenings etc are the right place to wear a dress and I eventually get one and feel good. This time I'm feeling stumped as I'm also expecting it to be hot.

Unfortunately the Oasis dress was absolutely beautiful and lined but very little fabric on the bust area so did not fit there at all- and they only go up to size 18. So it's been sent back and I'm still looking.

@MsSquiz you look lovely, can you link to your shoes?

MsSquiz · 07/06/2022 20:09

@BundtCake I would but I can't find them anywhere! I think they're 2 or 3 years old, from Carvela.

But I did just find these on sale in Debenhams, that are the most similar
