How do you protect skirts from hangers?

Just taken an cream skirt out of my cupboard and there's a yellowish mark where the clips of the hanger were. It's not very noticeable fortunately as the skirt is dry clean only! How do you stop this happening? Will kitchen paper or a tissue be enough or am I going to cause other problems/staining?

Have the skirts got ribbon each side inside to use on the hanger, if not then sew a ribbon loop inside and use a wooden hanger with the skirt notches.

No, and I'm not sure I'd dare try to sew it, the material looks quite delicate and I'm not.

Keep them in a drawer instead or use those expanding hanger things instead of one with clips

I use cotton wool pads or bubble wrap folded over the parts of the skirt (or trousers) that will be clipped into the hanger.

it's a massively pleated one so I've not a clue how to fold it 😂
