Hair Colour Disaster

I have medium/lightish brown hair which I normally get coloured a rich brown all over. It's mostly grown out and this time I said I wanted to go for a coppery/auburn colour but didn't want loads of maintenance - hairdresser said that was fine and the colour should still take without having to bleach it first. She then suggested some small balayage pieces to run through it to give it some dimension.

The lighting in her salon is low and when I left and it was curled and styled I thought it looked good. But in natural light the next day, it looked really bright red and the balayage was unblended strips ALL in the back of my hair, none in the front, and they look so brassy and orange. It's alot more than just the small pieces she'd suggested, it's most of the back of my head.

I've messaged her and she's agreed to fix it tomorrow. I don't know how she's going to do it but I'm nervous and want to know what I should ask for to avoid anymore damage. Could she colour all of it the darker brown I usually have so at least it looks normal again? I'm worried about how much bleach is in the back of my hair and that it'll still look uneven :(

Any hairdressers who can advise?!
