Shops that are always out of stock

How do they survive? Are they intentionally low key, small businesses?

I am think mostly of Poetry, almost every product I ever clock on there is out of stock, often for up to 5 months. Basically every linen dress I have checked says it will only be shipped in July. No use to me, at all.
I'm not sure why they sell out so quickly and have such long waiting times to restock. Unless they're tiny?

I've had this with other stores, not particularly small either. If something isn't coming back (Hi John Lewis!) just remove it from the bloody page fgs. They've had some Bobbi Brown eyeshadow sticks advertised on there for over 6 months and all sold out since then. Why bother?

Re the John Lewis point, I always toggle the search to “in stock”, as so frustrated at items showing up in results but then not being available

The Range is the best at this.

Next are pretty good too.

I have this with M&S often and it's so frustrating

And Ocado that deliver M and S. l was so excited when this first happened. But everything is out of stock. I’ve never used it because of this.

EleonorBronte · 15/05/2022 22:05

I've always been lucky with Ocado, and it bothers me because I could get my groceries cheaper elsewhere. But whenever I have used Tesco or Sainsbury's they always bring half of what I ordered, and often stuff that I didn't!

Poetry are something else. I often wonder if it is a joke site that never actually sells anything Grin

Me too. It should be the default though as they have so much out of stock.

Gap. There are a few things they sell that I'd go back to forever but months go by and they are never in stock. Or have literally one size.
