Styling an aircast boot for work

Hi

After a bad break to my leg I am going back to work soon with an air cast on for at least 12 weeks. I need to try to look professional.

Any advice? Do I even attempt to style it out? Have spent last 2 months in pyjama bottoms and my oh's shorts.

Thanks

Take a leaf out of Colleen’s book. “Adorned with a Gucci loafer”.

it’s given me delight this week that the singular use of the word is indeed correct.

Oh I had a broken ankle and a boot 14 years ago and I ordered some sticky back chrome off eBay and stuck it to all the grey plastic bits. Close up you could see my average handiwork but people would stop me in the street and asked where I got the fancy boot from and had I gone private. Anyway, was super easy and I liked wearing it!

Did you change your outfits to go.around it?

I'm a skinny/tailored trousers girl at heart tho I probably shouldn't be am def on the short and tubby side. But I cant get them on they just hurt to pull over my ankle.

So I'm thinking dresses and the like but is it even worth trying to look professional or do I just accept for two months I'm wearing what I can manage?

Wish my work would let is wear maxi dresses - problem solved that way

Do you wear an Even Up on the other shoe ?
That would limit your choice as you'd need a stable flat secure shoe to put it on.

Maxi Dress - you run the risk of tripping if you catch the hem.

JUst brazen it , you need to wear it , you need to be comfortable .

Maybe short culottes? Maxi dresses or a long skirt. You need to be comfortable and nothing you can trip up over.

I dont wear an even up - has meant I needed go through my shoe collection to find options to even me out. One pair of Chelsea boots, one pair block heel sandals and one pair kitten heels all I've came up with so far.

I find culottes look awful on me - out and out frumpy due to my height/size - but I think they may have to be what I wear as they are practical atm.

Could just stay sat behind my desk as much as possible.

I got some smart loose black linen shorts from H&M that I could pull up over mine and wore a canvas shoe on the other foot as I needed to be as stable as possible. I'm a teacher so needed to get back in and just accepted I couldn't do my usual skin leg trousers or low heels for a while.

A-line skirts or dresses?

PollyIndia · 18/05/2022 19:07

Its was a while ago.. I think I wore it with short skirts and tights and a boot on the other leg. It was winter. I've got a pic of me at my work summer party in a short black dress with a leopard print heel on the other foot
